The GM and coach are desperate to not get fired. Doesn’t this feel like a desperation move?

How the hell is the GM still employed in Chicago? This is a man who not only passed on Watson & Mahomes to draft Trubisky 1st O.A. But the man gave away picks to do so.

There's no shaking that mistake. That's unforgivable.

He gives away picks to sign Mack. Yes that's a good trade if you've already got a complete team. But are just missing a pass rusher. But that wasn't the case.

Now he is debating giving up picks for Wentz? He has to be getting paid off by other teams to make the Bears worse.

Move up draft to get Trey Lance. A 20yr kid. Build around him next 2yrs... He could be QB for Patriots in years to come... He has traits of Mahomes and speed of Lamar... Panthers or 49ers will get the kid, if Patriots don't move up.

I would be 100% happy with Mac Jones at #15. He’s a ridiculously accurate QB, smart & productive. His last 2 years, over 75% completion %, 55 TD passes and 7 INTs. He’s clutch in big games. Can make all the throws. I’d be thrilled. Sign Fitzpatrick as our bridge QB and let Jones learn from him all year.

I agree really like Lance
Panthers and Niners are real threats.
We realistically would have to move up to 5 or 6 for him.
For what people are giving up for Stafford and Wentz it could be worth it.
We may be one of the teams sniffing around Darnold I will puke if we give our first or second for him when you get Tru with no compensation needed.

I know BB likes Garoppolo, after all he drafted him as TB's replacement. But the injuries scare me (remember he had one when he replaced TB during his Deflategate punishment). Also, he was not the solid franchise QB San Fran thought he would be (or they wouldn't be looking to trade him). I would rather sign Fitz as a 1-2 year bridge and draft a QB in the second round.

The thing is I think his hype has gone up and in my mind there is no way he will slip in the second round. If Bill and the team really like him they may have to take him at 15.

Howe seems to think it's not out of the question the Pats trade up to put them in play for one of the top 4 QBs. Maybe getting Detroit's pick at 7 since the Lions don't need a QB anymore. Moving up to 7 would cost the Pats a first and second this year in value.

I don’t think it’s panicking. If Bill feels that Jones is his guy and he hear or feel that teams will draft him between 16-20, I think he could take him at 15. If he hears that he will go late in the first down, he could drop down, get an extra pick and take him late.
