What's The Case for Boutte?

Right now I see Pop, Osborn and TY as the starters. I think they will mix in Polk a lot.
Yep. But Polk will earn a starting role. Probably before Maye. Guy’s a first round talent.

Even if the defense does take a dip.. I'd be happy with the offense showing up. The league rules couldn't make it more easier for an offense to move the ball and score. Last season we couldn't convert 3rd downs and get in the end zone. Your right loosing Barmore sucks! But these defense still has enough Dawgs on the unit to be respectful. As I've mentioned contrary to some posters.. the secondary is the strength of the team.. when healthy they are amongst the best units in the league. There will player or 2 that really steps up.. I think that will be X.. we signed from the giants. There will never be an replacement for Bill nor TB12..

I just want the team to be respectful on offense and competitive.. the fan base will not stand for many games like the Chargers game last season.
Just an FYI I think I heard some teammates calling him OX

I wouldn't be shocked if week 1 it's Pop, Polk, and Ty. But this team has seemed to lean toward vets over rookies mostly all summer I think that's one thing that allowed Tyquan to get a foothold. In most everyone's mind we just defaulted to putting Polk and Baker ahead of Tyquan but the team gave Tyquan the benefit and with a good off-season in the weight room it seems he took that benefit and ran with it. Now we'll see if it carries into the game.

So anyway at least week 1 I think Osborn might start but yes Polk is right there ready to pounce on either Ty or Osborn.

Agreed. I really like polk and his potential.. he's strong he, and fights for the ball and physical. I have polk, TT, pop as our starting WR.. I know AVP usually uses 3 WR sets in some formations.

After adding no-one new in FA and losing Barmore and Judon, the defense is not looking like it will excel. Too bad in my opinion. I think the Pats had a nice base group of defensive guys and I was hoping we would continue to slowly add to the D while we rebuild the O. We did nothing and are going backwards, which is very unfortunate. The only upside is the possible emergence of Y2 players like White and Gonzo.
Yes, it will be incredibly difficult to replace Judon's 2023 production.

And yes, we lose Barmore and gain Gonzo.

And, apparently Hawkins is no one.

Finally, playing with something better than the worst Offense in the entire league should mean that the Defense is one the field for many fewer minutes.

I’d keep Boutte instead of a fourth RB like Hasty Pudding.

So, we have a running team and you want 7 WR's plus a starter on PUP? and 3 RB's?

I'm fine with not having Hasty on the 53. That would just mean that we will be more likely to add a RB.

Jaylinn Hawkins who was released by the Falcons and Chargers, and we signed off his couch? Yup, he is a nice guy and a JAG. Do you overrate the Pats players often?

You're right. We should have kept Mills. Certainly. Hawkins isn't an upgrade as a free agent and backup safety.

I forgot the rules.

There are no improvements from 2023.
