What to do with Isaiah Wynn

Ouch those stats show me we have 3 weak links on offense. The weakest links are both of our current offensive tackles, and our 3rd weakest OL oh yeah it's that 1st round pick we spent on a guard. Hard to overcome that. No wonder Mac got assassinated and injured in back to back games!

As for the reason why the players aren't performing up to standards - it's either on the coaching or the players, whom do you blame? As for our offense this year, I feel you have to lay a huge percentage of the responsibility on the coaches who instituted all these changes - Matt Patricia and Joe Judge.

The sacks attributed to Brown are more communication issues than anything else. Not sure if I would put those on him. Andrews, we've discussed has been underwhelming and we know about Wynn.

I would do nothing at all. At worst, he should be our swing OT for the rest of the season.
play out the string... which is what will probably happen... not sure he loses the starting job... though there will be a quick hook if he plays like crap
How about having a clue? What good does trading him do us this year? We free up cap space to sign who? Trading him in this year does nothing for us. Wynn may not be great but at least he can fill in the swing tackle role until Cannon gets gassed or injured. There is no point in trading a guy for peanuts to gain cap space that will be cleared in March anyways.
jesus... try some effing reading comprehension for once in your life... For some people (obviously not you) it is possible to string different parts of a conversation together to understand the context... But you are just ****ing obtuse, aren't you?

what part of "I dont think they will trade him" did you not understand? was it the don't? its a contraction meaning "do not" as in "I do not think they will trade him" ...

Yess Ash that strip sack for a TD against Miami was the fault of Clue-less Henry who sucks at blocking air.

Trent Brown is one of if not the Best LT in the game right now.

Except when he needs to be... such as on 2nd/5 in OT...

He's a dam sight better than Lose/Lose, and that's as far as I go.

Whatever happened to taking best player available regardless of position. We all knew at the time of the draft that Lamar Jackson was better than both Sony Michel and Isaiah Wynn.

As was Nick Chubb...

Crazy thing is, Wynn’s the ideal swing tackle. Too bad his contract isn't..

Lose/Lose would've been the ideal Left Guard, as some of us pictured him before the draft...

You keep floating it out there and mentioned a second but then like to say "I don't think they will trade him" so why are you even discussing it. It has no value to the team this year and you don't think it will happen but here you are arguing with me. Run along now I am done with this.

i reply to others who bring it up possibly trading him... and so what? But you reply to these posts with out even reading them... Again, this is the second time ive told you - i quite literally said I dont think we will trade him and i dont think we could get a second... and i phrase it that way because its is my opinion on the matter... and if I want to talk about the hypothetical of trading him, i will. Period.

If you have a problem with me or what i say, put me on ignore. Or - better yet - so you don't have an issue in the future, Learn how to ****ing read.

Yes, Brown is solid at both LT and RT.

Somehow, Wynn is LAZY because he isn't a solid RT, even though he was OK at LT.

Please note that Wynn's grade at LT in 2020 and 2021 are better than Brown. Even at LT, arguably there hasn't been much of an improvement.

BOTTOM LINE
The stats you point out do NOT show that Wynn is LAZY. They show that he is much better at LT.

As far as stats, the switch of Wynn to RT has been a failure. Switch them back and get on with it!

AS AN ASIDE
I suspect that Brown was moved to LT because he was expected to play be better with a rookie LG.
I suspect that they made a judgment that Wynn was not going to sign for a team-friendly contract extension and didn't think he would be a good value for much more than that, so they stepped up to get Brown back on a multi-year deal with the idea that they would have him at LT this year rather than waiting for next year. I'm speculating that they hoped Wynn would be able to handle the switch but if not then they had a few options. Unfortunately neither him handling the switch or the other options seems to have panned out.

I've been saying since the beginning of last year that my biggest concern is not the OL players but the OL coaching. They got lucky with Scar coming back for a few more years but they didn't take advantage of that by getting the right guy in place to succeed him. People here talk about Popovich and maybe he would have been the right guy but he left before last season and this should have been addressed better than the Patricia-Yates combination AFAIAK. I'm as big a BB supporter as anyone here, I think he gets a bit too much criticism in regard to the drafting (he deserves plenty), but he has really dropped the ball on the OL coaching situation, and frankly on the effectiveness of his coaching staff in teaching and development. The ability of him and the staff to get frankly less talented guys to perform well was a very key element of the long term success, but it is not where it used to be IMHO.

Where did the “lazy” notion cone from? Was it Zolak’s off handed comment. Maybe he just sucks.

When you have the athletic talent that Lose/Lose has shown from time to time, both in college & in the pros, but you are performing as horribly as he currently is, then motivation has to absolutely be called into question... We all should've known we were going to be in trouble with this guy as early as the OTAs...

Wynn: I don't want to be here and I'm skipping OTAs.
BB: Here's 10 million dollars!

just for comparisons sake...

Wynns 5th year option ranks
17th in cash spent, 13th in cap hit in 2022 for left tackles...
7th in cash spent, 5th in cap hit for right tackles...

his option was a cheap pick up, all things considered

Captain, I didn't see your thoughts on our O-line going forward the rest of the year, are you thinking: Brown/Strange/Andrews/Onwenu/Cannon

Just curious your take, I know you definitely have opinions on the o-line

Ash is Yodny Cajuste off the injured list??

That wasn't Cannon...the run was to the left side between Brown and Strange....it was a great play by the defender. If he didn't make that play, it was going for a long gain.
I think Cannon was supposed to come inside and never made it. I'm not referring to Preston Smith coming in

Maybe we get a desperate team to overpay for him at tackle.
If we could dump him for a third or higher or a player at linebacker or DT I would.
How many drive killing mental mistakes can we tolerate?
His value has eroded so much you wouldn't get that much for him.
