Why is it so improper to say how you feel as a Patriots fan?

Do you always have to think the team is going to win the Super Bowl or is good to be labeled a fan?

The perception of what a fan should be in this forum is ridiculous - Just because you think the team is mediocre after being blown out by 45 points in 2 of the last 3 games is no reason to be labeled a troll or not a real fan - Get a reality check

Those are 3 of the 5 teams on our schedule. They are not the 'sisters of the poor', they are NFL teams, and there are a bunch of teams like them on our schedule.
When we beat buffalo twice, miami, the jets twice (if the jets are sisters of the poor then the bills and dolphins are too) kc, oakland, st louis, arizona, seattle, and sf and go 11-5 and win the division are you handing back the title, because all of those teams are weak to you?
You realize that about 10 wins is a PLAYOFF team and typically 75% of those come against team with losing records for the average playoff team right?

Its amazing to me how much you enjoy trashing the team you claim to root for. You get angry when ever anyone tempers your disgust for them and continue to try to come up with cute, creative ways to denigrate the team.

I seem to remember last year that you took great pains in insulting anyone who suggested 16-0.

I think you guys have it backwards. The patriots are favored by 3, and so you need to give 3 to bet on the patriots. This is usually posted as PATRIOTS -3; the caps because we are the home team.

Apparently the better know something about our defense that we don't.

I stand corrected, I think. The most I know about the point spread is what I see in the paper. So the Patriots are a 3 point favorite. If that works out to a +3 or -3, it's Ok with me.

I don't bet on games so a Patriots win by 1 is fine.

I said he'd be pro bowler EVENTUALLY or at that level by year end. I didn't say he'd make it this year.

Why is that over the top? People were saying last week if we should franchise him or not. Were they all trolls? I was surprised at that, but started to think it wasn't so crazy. Then I got labelled a troll for saying it's even possible (that the Pats franchise him).

I want reality, and I would assume that fans are hopeful, not pessimistic or defestist.

For example, if we are 5-5 after 10 games I would expect the talk to be about what we need to do in order to reach the post season, not to be about why we have no chance.

Commenting on what has happened both positively and negatively is fine. PROJECTING A NEGATIVE FUTURE FOR THE TEAM YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ROOTING FOR, EVEN ABOVE AND BEYOND FACTS has no use here in my mind. For example, saying a team that is 3-2 and would be a wild card if the season ended today will be lucky to win 8 games is negative, defeatist, is not fact based, and does not belong. Let the Jet fans doom our season on their board, thats what they are hoping for, it shouldnt look like its what Pats fans are hoping for.

Thats the whole point. You see Sunday as 'a mess.' As if we learned that the Patriots are incompetant and that one game will create shockwaves through our entire schedule.
The rest of the world sees it as normal. A good team beat another good team. The home team won. The score got kinda lop-sided. OK, pretty much as planned lets move on to next week.

How much do you think the Giants next point spread will change by them losing last night?

Then explain the beating 'at Gillette' by a team who won 1 game last season?

San Diego was home - Miami was not

You can't continue with excuses for every 20+ point loss

How many blowouts do you have to see before you realize without Brady the team lacks more then just depth at QB,It lacks emotion without its leader and I don't know if any player on this team can get these guys to play with some vigor.

If this team does not have some player step up and take over Tom's leadership and soon, the season will start to crumble even more - This looks like a team right now with all kinds of pieces laying all over the table but no one to put the puzzle together.

Sure 3-2 looks good right now but the wins over Kansas City and San Francisco were not dominating - We need more games like the Jets game where the team actually played with some emotion.

Being a realist isn't allowed around here, it is frowned upon heavily if it show's the team in a bad light at all.
You will be called a troll, and many other things by the "True Fans"
