We're on to Pittsburgh

No question. These teams are not the same teams that faced each other in October.

Gronk and Jamie Collins were still on the roster, and Big Ben was inactive and didn't even play

Can't be emphasized enough

Completely different. The Steelers defense has played just as well as ours over the last 7 games. Averaging 16 points a game. 24 points might win the game.

They don't create much pressure with the front 4. They'll need to blitz, which I'm sure Brady will welcome.

It is the exotic blitzes that Brady needs to watch out for.

The Pittsburgh secondary is not great, we just have to bring out "A" game and not that garbage we played with against Houston.

On offense, the Pittsburgh o line is double teaming both dt's and letting bell pick his hole or bounce it outside.

Our de's must set the edges and Roberts-Hightower have to be patient beasts all game long on the inside against bell,

butler has to have a better game against brown than previous games,

Claims he's going to play on Sunday afternoon, let alone a month from his injury (hypothetical SB).
Dude will just be a decoy. All it takes is one or two good hits to the chest to take him out. That'd be nuts.

Butler has given up 1 td to Brown in the 2 games he has played against him. That's solid

I'm nervous as heck but still confident we win, if that makes any sense.

Pats vs Atlanta, don't think GB has enough defense to slow down Atlanta at all. Rodgers will put up points just not enough to keep up with Atlanta.

And if they had 5 healthy offensive players that game they STILL would have owned him. They lost by 2 freakin points. God I'm tired of the mythification of that AFCCG. We lost in a game we were crippled. We don't have a single offensive lineman that is playing the same position he played in that game. Volmer and Cannon don't play that game if it wasn't the playoffs.. Edelman was hobbled, No Hogan, No Lewis, No LBG, No Bennett. No Floyd. If you aren't a talk show host or caller, that game ceased being relevant the moment it was over.

I dont think the game was as close as you make it out to be. Pats had to covert on two 4th downs on their final drive before scoring their second touchdown, and were practically gifted the first touchdown on a penalty by Denver.

I think the game was certainly winnable, but in the end, we were outplayed and outcoached by the better (and healthier) team

I'm guessing that you're right that he'd mostly be a decoy this coming Sunday, but he's got 3 more full weeks of rest prior to the SB. It's just a pain tolerance issue, and he'll have all the time in the world to heal after playing in the big game.

You may be right, but any real competitor is going to want to play in that kind of game, so I'd be a bit surprised if he didn't. I'm guessing he'd wear one of those protective type of vests that we've seen before, but who knows?

And this is why they will lose.

Can you even imagine anyone on the Pats O being that happy with themselves if they just came away from a playoff game scoring ZERO touchdowns? I highly doubt it.

This tape will be played first thing tomorrow morning at Gillette. And put on repeat in the gym. And in the cafeteria. And on the speakers at practice. And on their phones. It will be their alarm clocks.

Thank you Pittsburgh and Coach Tomlin.

Antonio Brown posted a video in the locker room on his Facebook. Was just recording with his phone while Tomlin was talking lol. Can hear Tomlin say "we spotted those assholes a day and a half" when talking about the Pats.

Can't WAIT for this game.

umm...somehow im not surprised that Tomlin can't count 24 hours...

we played at the exact same time as them yesterday....but OK

That comment reminds me of Troy Brown and Bill Parcells. If memory serves me (and I may have this one wrong) I recall Brown was inactive for the 96 SB and I believe it was due to an on the edge injury. But the story in the media was Brown was heavily lobbying BP to be activated/allowed to play. Again if my memory has it right that is a classic example of the competitor wanting to play not matter what. ((Brown wasn't quite "Troy!" in 96 so making him inactive probably wasn't exactly an insomnia causing event for BP))

Some Comments on the comments:

1. I got the team I wanted (although KC was pretty pitiful on their home turf)

2. Any team that wins on the road in the playoffs deserves your full respect.

3. Sup is right Shazier and Dupree are playmakers and need to be watched. And their defense played much better the last half of the year. HOWEVER after giving up 35 to Cowboys in Pittsburgh, the Steelers played their best defense against the Browns, Colts, Giants, Bills, Bengals, Ravens, and Browns again in their 7 game winning streak to end the season on the rise.

So I ask the question. How come the Steelers defense has become so formidable playing the offensively challenged Giants and Colts, and 4 teams we beat as well, yet our defense is suspect for beating most of those teams more decisively.

4. I am NOT afraid of the Steeler pass rush because their 2 best guys (Harrison and Dupree) are outside guys and our to OT's have already seen better and shut them down. Remember Clowney and Mercelous did no damage to Solder and Cannon.

5. That being said, Tuitt is a force inside, and I'm guessing Dante will be working hard at possible stunts and blitzes up the middle.

6. This is a game where the coaching advantage weighs HEAVILY in our favor.

7. Leveon Bell is fun to watch even when he is the opponent. But our rush defense is one of the best in the league. He will get his yards (80-110). Their OL and he are too good to simply shut him down, but he isn't getting anything close to 170. I worry more about him as a receiver than how he will impact us as a runner. He won't be stopped, but he will be controlled.

8. I've mentioned several times recently how badly Ben has played on the road recently. Tonights game was better than that, but not THAT much better. Bell carried the Pittsburgh offense, not Rothlessburger. With all that weaponry, and a wildly successful running game, Rothlessberger couldn't manage a TD. I ain't ascared of their QB on the road.

9. Their TE had 85 big yards something to watch.

10. Anyone know who Dur Fuhrer is sending in a last ditch attempt to derail this train?

I think he was talking about extra half a day because of travel time, said ' we get home at 0400 in the morning, but thats ok . . .'

I know, and they still get a full 7 days between games, which is the same as any other week.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that NE got the game on Saturday because of some rotational agreement, and not because Goodell wanted to give the Pats some kind of advantage.

That said, they truly believe that NE gets preferential treatment, so it's still going to be used as a motivational tool for them. People may believe it or not, but there are other teams who use the "us against the world" mentality, particularly when playing NE.

Not entirely sure why the Steelers vs. KC game thread was locked @Ross12, but found this pretty interesting
