Elliott Wolf looks like a much better GM with Josh McDaniels in the war room. Nothing will slow down a pass rush like a strong running game and a guy like this on the business end of a screen.

Only BB could watch both Chubb and Michel and come away thinking Sony was the better player. Chubb was the superior runner but we all know Sony probably interviewed well. BB Drafted a Debating society who's already out of the League. We were so blessed with Brady who covered up those Blatant Draft Blunders.

Chubb couldn't fkn BLOCK, Bill wanted a good RB, that could also block .

Belichick doesn't get *enough* credit for the Sony Michel pick. Their rb room was basically Rex burkhead and that's it. They needed a feature back who could run, catch, pass protect, and, oh yeah, be plug and play as a rookie.

Sony Michel did that, and they do not win in 2018 without him

Sony Michel played 6 years and was out of the league. Won 2 super bowls.

Nick Chubb also played 6 years. He's never won Jack ****.

Michel was pick 31. Not 3. He was brought in to win a super bowl. And did just that. Yeah, would have been great if he stayed healthy. That's football, man.

At that point in time the patriots were up against it with the cap every year, and were in pure win now mode because Brady was in his late 30s. If Antonio brown wasn't a psychopath, maybe they win that year too.

There's lots of things to criticize belichick for. Taking Sony Michel is not one one of them. Not even close.

It's very possible.
Chubb would have had his time on the field limited the first time he half-assed a blitzing linebacker.

I guess you can make the argument that in his rookie season, Chubb wasn’t a very highly rated blocker. However if you do a litttle google or look at some of the rating services, you’ll discover he became one of the better pass blocking backs from 2019 and on (often top 10). And I’m sorry, but I personally never thought Sony was the best blocker himself. Definitely not even close to Henderson or James white for that matter.

At the end of the day it’s just old numbers and opinions. Something we’ll truly never really know. I’m glad we got Hendo over Judkins. That’s for sure.
