Week 7: We’re on to Chicago

Maybe more White than Michel. Possibly a little more Dwayne Allen, too.
Do you think if we dress Allen in Waddle's number we can put them both at RT at the same time and the refs won't notice?

The 2002 win at Chicago was uploaded on YouTube recently, iirc brady’s first 20+ pt comeback, it was 27-6 till later in the third quarter, a definite classic despite the down year. Enjoy:

Thank you for posting. I was there!

The opponents during this stretch are maybe not as daunting but 4 away games out of 5 total games is pretty tough. Don't underestimate the effect.
We went through this last year. The road games being in succession don’t really make them any different than typical road games. Yes, teams won less on the road, so a stretch of road games ought to produce more losses than a stretch of home games but the fact they are consecutive doesnt make them any more difficult. (And I understand that is a commonly held misperception)

When was the last time the Pats played in Chicago? 2010? That was that crazy snow game if I remember correctly. The 2002 game is still one of the craziest Pats games of all time.

I was at that game....-10 F.

It's interesting in Chicago that their fans don't use the pointer finger to tell you that the Pats are #1!!!

The BYE is after the Nashville trip...

Correct. Three of the four games remaining before the BYE are on the road:
@CHI, @BUF, GBY (home), @TEN

@BUF and GBY (home) are the last two night games (pending flexes)

After the BYE:

@Jete, MIN (home), @ Mia, @PIT ... BUF (home), Jete (home)

So, six of the Pats next 8 games are on the road. Five games of the next 10 against divisional opponents, including 3 on the road.

Looking further ahead looks like Josh Allen will miss the MNF game in 2 weeks. So it will either be Derek Anderson or Peterman

They should flex that Monday Nighter Bills should not be on National TV.

My first reaction was "Whoa, Derek Anderson is still in the league?" Followed by the realization that Anderson, who feels like he's from a different period of football, is six years younger than Tom Brady.

Contain Cohen and Robinson and this should be a relatively easy win. Hicks is going to be a handful up front, though.

Cohen - like White and Jalen Richard (OAK) - is more receiver than RB. He's been used about half as much as White, and hasn't gotten much YAC (only 49% of his receiving yards are YAC).

Np! I actually also got to watch that team @buffalo that year, they had a great game that week and dominated the bills in their place. That team still had some magic but unfortunately came up short

Wish we had taken an flier on Allen Robinson coming off the ACL. He played for O'Brien at Penn State: had a Monster Second year with the Jags. Then was held back by Bortles and tore his ACl last year. Robinson is having decent year thus far coming off the injury.

Yeah, he's recovered nicely. That said, it's hard for me to be upset that we didn't now that we have Gordon. We're fine at WR. Everyone is slotted where they need to be now that Gordon is getting his bearings.

Wow! the Bears gave him a serious Three year pact coming off that injury some serious guaranteed $$$$...glad he's working out for them.

Yeah, I like Robinson a lot and I'm glad to see him come back. But given the Pats' recent issues with knee-challenged players, can you imagine the reaction here if they'd given a three-year, $42 million contract with $25 million in guarantees to a WR coming off an ACL tear?

Bears Doctors must be some of the best in the business *evaluations and all*...because its hard not to have reservations about the ones used by the Pats.
