We gotta go get him (Tee Higgins)

We will only sniff Carter and Hunter when they come for a visit...but we won't sniff em on Draft Day we have Mayo to thank for that.

Carter, theres a chance. But graham is fine too. Still should wind up with a very good player unless they get cute and do a 2024 rd 2 type of fail

Higgins makes sense, cause he can be a number 1 he’s the safest upgrade we can get with some upside still. And he’s better than anything we have on the roster or that is in free Agency.

Have to build around Maye, this is what that looks like.

Agree. He also runs routes deep and on the sidelines which none of our current guys do well. Let Henry, Boutte, and Douglas work the middle of the field with Higgins spreading it. Paying a premium will be worth it.

No chance for Carter Game Changing DE's go very early and often.

One problem with Slayton is he sucks at catching the football. His career catch percentage is 56. That's worse then Nelson Agholor and Devante Parker. Even Boutte has a better percentage.

FWIW Chris Godwin's career catch percentage is 71.

Darius Slayton has had the ghost of Eli Manning, Daniel Jones, Colt McCoy, Mike Glennon, Jake Fromm, Davis Webb and Tommy Devito throwing the ball at him, a rogue's gallery of inadequacy. Godwin's QB's have been Winston, Fitzpatrick, Brady and Mayfield

I can see Josh McDaniels clammering for that guy: I'm not opposed.

I'd take a flier on Godwin. He should be short money guaranteed with a chit ton of incentives.

I don't get the Pokémon thing. (if that's what that thing is)
My cousin was big into Pokemon at one time, so I picked up on a bit of it through him - Pokeballs that contain pets, and the phrase "Gotta catch 'em all".

Good points all. I would say that Jacobi Meyers had a 70% catch rate in 2022 with Mac Jones throwing to him.

FWIW 2024 Giants

Bro.

If Godwin is signing a short term, incentive-laden deal, what makes anyone think he'd sign that here? If you're putting yourself in a position where you need statistical production to get paid, why would you sign with one of the worst offenses in the league? I get we have a new OC and there's optimism around Maye, but this hardly feels like a good spot for a player signing that type of deal. If it's low money/incentive laden that means better teams will be able to sign him too.

Even if he would take that kind of deal, most guys are shells of themselves in their first year back from that type of injury. I doubt anyone will be sitting here this time next year wishing we had Godwin on the team. If you get him on a multi year deal relatively discounted because of the injury, I could see him making up the value longer term. But even that's tough because he'll be in his 30s by the time he's "recovered" from the injury.

I very strongly don't see Godwin as a good fit for us, not us as a good fit for him.

Godwin has obviously been a better player than Slayton. Different tier of player in their careers so far. That being said, Godwin is coming off the kind of injury that likely limits his effectiveness next year when he gets back up to speed. And if he does take a year to get back to normal like most players, he'll then be in his 30s where age could come into play as a declining factor as well.

Really we're just talking about a different tier of player though and I'm projecting him to be a different sized contract accordingly. Slayton certainly has warts but he has plusses as well and they're in areas we lack at the WR spot, mainly speed. I think he could be a solid piece here, that's all.

We have no reason not to put the best available resources and assets around our young Franchise QB.

No kidding. I am not disputing that. If anyone thinks the top WR in free agency is coming to New England to sign just a 3 year contract that benefits us, they have another thing coming. If he chooses to not stay in Cincinnati, it is because they could not offer him what he wanted. He isn't coming here for less or just 3 years. He will be looking for 5 years and $150 million.

I have no clue. I've just always heard players try to get their deal to end before they turn 30 to get a big next contract, too. If that's not really a thing then that's not really a thing.

You have to think about it. The kid is 25 and is the top WR on the market. If he leaves the Bengals, he will milk every single penny for every single year that he can. He is soft tissue injury prone and knows it. You can bet on him getting 5 years at $150 million at least. He is not leaving $60 million on the table to come here for 3 years. This is the craziest WR market in the history of the league and its time for him to cash in.

I think this player in particular is going to command a contract that is going to be guaranteed. I agree he should be heavily incentivized, but some team is just going to back the the Brinks truck and shovel money at him, all while screaming...

yeah, there will be 50 million guaranteed, no doubt... still better than what we have, which is nothing

Bro im still having ptsd on day 2 wrs i need some time before anyone can sell me on that! Ive heard the draft is pretty deep at dl and maybe ot towards the 30s so that might be the play at 38.

Hunter/carter/mason is my plan too but we’ll see how fa goes.
New coaches and hopefully Wolf is just there to get the coffee lol

Have to give Polk and Baker another year.

But drafting a WR on day 3 is definitely an option.
