We gotta go get him (Tee Higgins)

You'll be plenty pissed when he's out.
Tee Higgins Injury History & Updates

Even if Higgins plays 12 out of 17 games could be the difference between a playoff run and 8 and 9

Tee Higgins is a 1, not sure what world people live in calling him a #2, yeah he’s not JJ, Chase, Hill
But he’d be number 1 on at least 15 teams thus a number 1.
So now we skip out on a solid number 1 because we can’t get an elite #1? His contract would coincide with Mayes rookie deal. This is a no brainer.

Until the Pats can draft WR, they will either have to pay up or trade for someone.

Bob is going to have to do something he doesn't like doing and start writing checks for OL and skill players.

My feeling on this is especially related to WRs in that if they come here for the $ and not to win then they aren't motivated to play hard.

I think that’s the benefit to overpaying for Tee. No draft compensation.

Maye and McDaniels and Higgins can feed families.

I want to play devils advocate a minute here. I'm not opposed to getting Higgins for the right price. I don't consider him a elite receiver but he would probably be the #1 on about 2/3 of the teams in the league. I like him and I think he is a good player when healthy and that is a concern. But do we need him so much that we pay more than we should to get him with so many glaring needs on the team? Does every team need a true #1? I would say it surely doesnt hurt but the Chiefs this year and previous Pats teams got it done with no true #1 because of the qb, the coaches the other players on the team, I'm sure its a little bit of everything. I do think Josh knows how to get it done with no stud receivers. We had a winning seasons with rookie Mac and no stud receivers that says something. I guess my thought is get Higgins if the price makes sense. If it doesnt that money can go to address the numerous other needs this year.

That’s fair, but I think we have the money to address WR and the other needs on our list.

Now’s the time to pay. Because when we pay Maye the next contract, we won’t be able to.

Totally agree....as long as we use a hefty portion of the cash to burn I keep hearing about.

I am not a cap guy, but if Tee stops us from getting a solid OT, DT, FS, CB and LB, then I'd rather spend the money on the other spots. But if we can do all of that, then let's.

Elijah Moore seems a bit redundant with Douglas, whereas Slayton is more like a Bourne type. Slayton has also played in Daboll's offense which might have more transferability to McDaniels' system.

I really think Slayton is among the best FA fits for us. He doesn't address the desperate need for a #1 WR, but he does address the desperate need for more speed at WR overall. He's a guy I'd target early on in free agency and try to lock in a deal while other teams chase the higher ranked options. Just a really solid fit for us in our overall roster building, IMO.
No thanks to Slayton I want a real #2 and not a #3 or 4. We are already loaded with those.

Let me say this for the Record: Mike Vrabel and our New Brass will get us some Very Good WR's Starting in this Draft and onward. You can always find good WR's in the Draft: but the BB steng @ WR rubbed off on Elliott Wolf. Glad Mike brought in his own guy.
