It isn't, but it's still not happening, and you know it.
Dude, I thought you would have figured it out by now that we have differing opinions on giving up on this team. I wish you would have known that.

the pronunciation of Jete has been a movable feast, or at least was in the beginning.
For who?

It's also tied to one blip in the history of JEST suckage. Recentism at its worst. At most, "Jete" merits a mention now and then among the usual JEST usage. That's extended here to about 50/50. But making an argument for exclusive use of JETE to the disadvantage of JEST disregards decades of hapless fans literally making a joke out of their own team name with signs, their green-painted torsos, etc.

I had no idea somebody specific was "the guy" that introduced "JETE" as the new "JEST," but you're mad with interweb power here.
And you're goofy. The introduction of "Jete" was a significant moment in team history involving one of their own stars, a landmark gaffe on the national stage a la the buttfumble. But there is no campaign for exclusivity here, just due recognition of its significance. Jete, Jest or New Jersey Green Beans, all represent acknowledgement of abiding suckage.

Pete says:

"Lets just beat the sheet out of the Jete so we can meet and defeat the next deadbeat in the divisional round and greet our next victim with a cleat to the face even if it's in the heat of San Diego and accomplish the feat of making our eleventh Super Bowl and repeat as AFC Champs."
Kendrick Lamar, is that you?

Evans no!! Why would we try to exploit another teams’ weakness?? If we do that, then forum posters will cavil at the fact that Brady didn’t torch the NYJ for 300+

Going run-heavy accomplishes a couple things beyond being a good matchup strategy versus the Jete defense.

- It demonstrates to potential playoff opponents that they won't be able to simply sit back in dime coverage against Brady, and that they might not even be able to play 5 DBs as continuously as they might want to (unless all their DBs are great play-diagnosticians and tacklers).
- It makes play-action fakes more effective.
- It helps the Pats avoid putting more of their passing attack on tape that opponents can study to find tendencies.

If Tom's knee is truly banged up, all the more reason to run it.
