The NFL has had four months to investigate:
  • 23 legal claims from separate women about sexual misconduct by Deshaun Watson
  • 10 pending criminal cases filed by 8 of those women, and 2 other women
They’re unable to put forth any suspension or reserve status for Watson, claiming not enough information.

The NFL took less than two weeks to investigate:
  • 1 sexual assault claim against Antonio Brown, by a female acquaintance who never filed a criminal complaint and voluntarily flew several times to meet Brown, after alleged other misconduct took place; on the night of the alleged rape, she claims she went clubbing with him and stopped by his house after, just to use the bathroom.
Brown was released by Kraft, as we were told an investigation/suspension was imminent.

Brown was released because he couldn't stay off twitter and stop being a distraction.

The NFL spent over a year investigating Ezekiel Elliot and the DV complaints against him ... didnt suspend him til 2017 (most likely to protect the on-fire 2016 cowboys who sputtered out)

AB got blackballed flat out. He could’ve played until he was proven guilty. There’s certain players that get that treatment with Earl Thomas being the latest.

And releasing Brown resulted in Brady mentally checking out then leaving. Not to mention ruin a 8-0 football team's momentum.

.

Watson and Bob Kraft had innocent rub downs in the beginning.

AB did not.

Released to avoid media attention to Tug Job Bob's Excellent Florida Adventure.
I contend that Brady mentally threw in the towel on the NEP at that point.
welp...you definitely are a top contender in my book...

Post of the offseason, hands down.

Brown got released because he was a dummy that ignored 1 of the few conditions that was asked for him and decided to have his buddies look into his accuser and her kids which was taken as an implied threat, so dumb that the only way anyone found out is because he added the accuser to the group text and she got the text messages. He also most likely did it when he was on Patriots property.

So nah Antonio Brown got cut because he was an idiot with no impulse control. Saying it was because Kraft is just dumb His thing at that point was 6-7 months old which is ancient history in todays news cycle and secondly if Kraft wanted to avoid media attention he would have released Brown the moment the stuff about Brown having a sexual assault accuser instead he didn't and that's when they told Brown 1 misstep and he was done and the idiot goes accidently adds the accuser to the group text.

Yep. People are deliberately forgetting that what Brown got released was DOXING HIS ACCUSER. Not for being accused.

That’s an especially stupid reason to tank the offense. Especially when you would then have to rely heavily on two rookie receivers - one of which was a UDFA.

Doxing someone who just publicly stated in a major publication her name, profession, state of residence, etc? Nope. You'll have to come up with another infraction against Brown because doxing isn't it.

You mean posting pictures of her kids, telling his friend Eric he needs to investigate her and her family. Saying she's broke and is hitting him up for a mil.

"Plenty of people in the fanbase and probably in the locker room will complain Brown is gone because of flimsy allegations, and a media witch hunt."

"Threatening a woman who hadn’t made an attempt to recoup the money she alleges he owed her for working on a painting until he propositioned her while naked? A woman who only wanted to be left alone? Send a text that not only insults and threatens her but promises you’ll be having your henchmen climb into her life? And then include a picture of her children?

That, I’m told by a source, is why Antonio Brown is gone. The texts were a bridge too far for all the organization’s decision-makers. Because of that, I’m told, the decision was made that he had to go.

“Everybody got to the same place,” said a source."

He should have left her kids out of it. He's despicable.
Why are some fans still pining for this POS?

You're not as smart as you think you are. even if someone's identity is a matter of record they can still be doxxed if the person doing it brings attention to that identity as a thing to harrass or threaten.

your top WR committing a federal crime is a pretty good reason to tank the offense.

Besides, the receiving corps was hardly the biggest problem that year. Issues at TE and OL meant that the deep threat was never going to be the most productive part of the team. You need time to develop long plays and we had no blocking at TE and our OL was in a shambles, where was that time coming from?
