Not ideal, but may be a demand to save his marriage... if he doesn't a separation/divorce might be a season long distraction....
Have confidence that he put into place what he wants to have happen on Day 3....
Perhaps he realized that saving his relationship is this important to him...
Not sure why he had to announce this, as he could have just said post draft that he had to take care or important family issues after the fact and had confidence in his staff on Day 3....

Vrabel, like Belichick, can only get heavily involved in a limited number of prospects. Remember when BB was watching tape of White during Day 2 in the post-draft video? BB obviously had not previously scouted White. Coaches don't have the time to review a large number of prospects. The 4th round strategy is pretty much baked in after the Day 2 wrap up, and then the draft guys like Cowden have to pick the guys and move around for the 5th to 7th rounds. Vrabel does not know the guys in the 5th to 7th rounds outside the local or 30 visits. You watched more Day 3 prospect tape than Vrabel.

It is definitely not ideal. Wolf scares the sh!t out of me too.

Vrabel's currently absent for 8/11 picks as well as the possible Boutte trade. I wonder if that means they use some of those picks to trade up more on day 1 & 2. The two fourths for example.

I'd be ok with that. Also trading into next year. It might be at a discount but given the hype of 27 class it might be wise.

I think they are doing OK with it.

Yeah, they’re doing awesome. Rather than just acknowledging it at the beginning and letting it die quickly, now the team is reported to have tried to bury the story, Vrabel is a liar, and the one thing that needed to be protected, which is that this won’t be a distraction or affect the team, has now become the public’s fodder.

How could they have handled this scandal any worse?

Perhaps this is simple as Vrabel learning from BB's mistakes...
He may value and care about his current relationship and needs to put that first for a few days...

So Vrabel is becoming a real distraction from the draft. Not for me, I don't care about what people get up to in their personal lives, but the scummy press will be all over it. What a time to drop this!
