Vikings decline Adrian Peterson's option, making him a FA

Yawn. He wants Cowboys, they want him it looks like. He's on the wrong side of 30 with injury history. He's not what he was.

Another bad fit. Only one ball to divy up between him Elliott and Dez.

I'm rooting for that one to happen!

.

I understand discipline and all, but what he did to that 4 year old kid is just awful!!!
Growing up I got my ass kicked by my dad, but he never used any tools, always hit me on the back or butt. But yeah that looks awful especially with them scars.

They don't show it in the pictures, but in the investigation he stated that he got him in the child's "nuts" also.

AP should have been thrown in prison.

.

Oh man, sports and real life conflicting. I hate this conflict of interest.

Most of me says 'pass on this jerk.' but if tomorrow's headline says "Pats acquire AP" I'll be the biggest hypocrite by getting excited about our enhanced offense.

Was that child abuse? My mum hit me worse than that. (i'm adding that this is not a joke. Just normal for me growing up in my community).

Anyway, it's more whether he'd take 2-3m a year. I'm sure some other team will pay him more though.
Are you ****ing serious?

I'm sorry you had to experience that.

It was tough but all the kids went through the same thing so we never felt like it was something bad.

I don't condone it and i'd never do it. But growing up in my community, it was the norm.

Caning also normal in school when I was growing up. Not saying it's ok. Just normal for me.

guessing you grew up in singapore or malaysia? caning in schools isn't the norm in the united states.
.

I prefer AP > Charles for health reasons alone. I think Charles will be cheaper due to ACL x2, and that someone will show AP decent money. The pats simply won't pay big coin for a RB, and the results say they haven't had to.

I agree with the notion that it isn't right, but lots of people grow up in different households, with different cultures, and as such see/do things the rest of us shun. The important thing sometimes is that people realize the issue and change.

If the Pats do get him, I'd definitely root for him ...

... to simultaneously blow out every ligament in his body and fall into a shark.

If it would land you in handcuffs if not before a judge if you did it to an adult, you should N-E-V-E-R do it to a child

Singapore. Public caning. They don't do it now.

I don't think it's that simple, actually. You are your child's legal guardian and there's quite a bit of leeway in terms of what the state will allow you to do for discipline. For instance I give my kid timeouts, but if you try to give your girlfriend a timeout you will be arrested for false imprisonment. It's very unfair actually.

I am always hoping that my team has none or very few players that knowingly are of character so questionable that it makes it hard for me to cheer for them.

Thus I prefer to say no to guys like AP, Joe Mixon, and I am more than a little torn on Michael Floyd (though lots of his Notre Dame teammates insist he is a good guy with a treatable issue and a desire to beat it).

I don't expect them all to be choir boys, and things like pot possession bother me a lot less than crimes like beating women, beating kids, theft, gun violence, or driving high/stoned/drunk.

I have to admit it can be a sliding scale though. I don't look to athletes as role models and i want them to freakin' play well, and hard.

Don't want him anywhere near this team...he sucks now...only fantasy football fanboys think he's any good

Let me make this patently clear.

**** the Cultural Relativism on this subject.

Whipping up gashes on a 4 year old child's legs, buttocks and scrotum is not an act that should be respected in any way as "culturally diverse". So is a family murdering girls for being raped.

It's child abuse and inhuman.

Singapore is one of my favorite places in the world and the best place to live in all of SE Asia, IMO.

"Be it so. This burning of widows is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them, and confiscate all their property. My carpenters shall therefore erect gibbets on which to hang all concerned when the widow is consumed. Let us all act according to national customs." -- Sir Charles Napier, former British CINC in India
