Vikings decline Adrian Peterson's option, making him a FA

Tough call for two reasons, one is the incidents with his son and the other is the question of whether he has lost his explosiveness or if last seasons short sample was an accurate barometer of what he has left. The child abuse was disgraceful and whether he learned from it questionable, if they feel he had I would trust them, the same goes for what he has left in the tank. I'm not a big fan of the move if they do make it but I can trust their judgement on it. We'll see, I doubt they go this route.

If he can convince BB and Kraft that he deserves to be in NE, and if he is willing to make like $3-4m per year on a one- or two-year deal (I would be surprised if the Pats signed him for a longer term than that), then yeah, sign the beast. As has been mentioned, it would continue the dynasty parallels to 01-04 (signing an older but talented back cast off from his prior team).

I've seen reports that Blount is likely going to get paid in FA and the Pats won't match, so they may have a need for a big back, and Peterson would certianly fill that role... a time-share between Peterson, Lewis and White would hopefully keep everyone healthy. Would be a very good backfield.

Once i saw LG probably leaving..i thought AP.

If it was a genuine team friendly as in can get out of the deal after 1 year with minimal or not hit but also keep him for another year if he works out, I would do it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Like a two year deal with a team option for the second year.

We need to double dip at RB in the draft, one to groom behind White and Lewis and a power RB.

Regarding AP, I'm past the child abuse thing, I think he paid his due, the problem is that he looked toast last season.

I was going to ask where is Karlos Willians and if he could be a reclamation project but I just saw he is on the Steelers and facing a 10 game suspension so forget it.

He would have to play for cheap but he should be on a position to if he wants to win.

Ironically due to season ending injuries his football wear makes him about 29.

If they feel he has a lot left in the tank, then he's worth the signing. He could beast it here.

Can't see the Patriots signing him.

For 1 year vet minimum... maybe. Any more than that, no thanks. I don't think there's anything left in that tank

My Dad and Grandma beat my ass all the time spoon spatula paddle fists made me the tough ass I am today im skinny but dont step down and dont fear a ass kicking.

That's where the offset language from his Vikings contract becomes important.
