Vick: Write to the nfl - I did

Not open for further replies.
shut it?
grow up.
I'll voice my opinion here.

And yes they do care about my opinion.
I'm a consumer. I buy the NFL brand.

Ignorant folks like you who think companies don't care sit on their behinds and do nothing and then point the finger and say 'told you so, nothing's changed'

I'm sure you didn't think anyone cared about Imus either right?
People sent 1000s of emails to NBC and look what happend.
If people send emails to the NFL they will know they care and things will change.
That's the way the real world works.
Without action there will never be a reaction.

I love a good idealist Well said, Baron :rocker:

Either way, until the cops can prove Vick was abusing animals they cannot suspend him. As you said about the "weed" issue. There where no chargers so you cannot suspend him.

Convictions are not needed in order to suspend a player, according to Goodell's new policy. If he continually gets into situations that have legal implications (investigations, allegations), the league will suspend him.

Jones hasn't been convicted of anything (yet) but is habitually "in the wrong place at the wrong time", so to speak.

exactly

so people cant use the water bottle incident as a fact. Nothing came of it

He owns the house but his nephew lives there so what..? If he didnt do anything there he has to get suspended because something happened in his house? So if i go into someones house and smoke or do something illegal..hes the blame? Vick is a rich man..i doubt he spends every minute at home or the home he bought for his nephew(not sure if he lives in that house)

theres no evidence yet that Vick is running the "dog fighting" thing..plus that wouldnt be enough to get him suspended

Ron Mexico..we all remember that..big deal, thats behind everyone

He did show the middle finger last year ..he paid the fine

now look at Pacman who got suspended

Arrested 5 times, questioned 10 by police since being drafted '05
-assault
-vandalism
-night club altercation
-attacked officer didnt he?
-disorderly conduct
-public intoxication
-spit in face of a woman at a party(misdemeanor assault)

theres more..

Vick was guility for 1 thing(not telling female of his disease or w.e ) and did something wrong on the field (show finger)

edit************** Vick doesnt live in the house where illegal pet activites went on**********

Seriously, get a law book and brush up on the laws.

Any personal or real property that you own which is involved in illegal activity, you as the owner are partially/wholly responsible for these illegal activities. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF HE LIVES THERE OR NOT, HIS NAME IS ON THE DEED TO THAT HOUSE WHICH MAKES HIM LIABLE FOR ANYTHING THAT GOES ON IN SAID HOUSE.

obviously its partial but not full. You made it sound like hes going to be fully responsbile for what happened.

If there are over 60 dogs that show signs of mistreatment and the type of abuse that is along the lines of dog fighting then can anyone really say he was not part of this situation? He can anyone really defend Vick in this case? The article does not state 'a' dog or a couple dogs. Its says there were over 60 dogs.

You can split hairs about partial responcibility or full responcibilty but he should receive whatever is the normal punishment for this type of crime. Ofcourse so should whom ever lived in the house.

I am willing to bet that if pictures of those dogs end up on the internte through some 'slip' action will be taken

There is no place in the NFL for someone who fights dogs and neglects them.... He makes millions of dollars each year, he should be able to afford to take care of his dogs... If I haven't said it to ya'll before, I will now... I think Vick is a joke and he is a thug, he's not even a average QB, I have no respect for him, especially now... I have no tolerance for someone who fights dogs for their own personal gain or for someone who abuses and neglects them... I will be watching this closely, and will be letting all my contacts in the "dog world" now about this and I will be encouraging a swift punishment with the law and the NFL...

This is my quote on ESPN's conversions.

I am appalled, disturbed and disgusted... There is NO PLACE in the NFL for this kind of actions, I don't care who you are. Michael Vick's total and complete disregard for the laws of the land and the NFL, tells me that their is something wrong "upstairs" and he needs to be punished severly by the law and by the NFL.. There is no place for someone who fights dogs AND abuses them, and this is a perfect example of why BSL doesn't work, because it is the owner's responsibility to take care of their animals. It is obvious Michael Vick can't even do that. I strongly encourage Goodell to suspend Michael Vick for the season of 2007 and let him ponder what direction he wants for his life. He is setting a bad example of the NFL and for the Atlanta Falcons.

UPDATE on this situation...

UPDATE - Investigation of Vick's property continues

April 26, 2007 09:07 PM CDT

"I've seen Michael walking dogs, but it didn't look like a fighting dog," said next door neighbor Earnest Hardy.
Investigators are still on the scene Thursday night, nearly 24 hours after the start of the search of the property owned by Atlanta Falcons' quarterback Michael Vick.
Hardy said he hears dogs at all times in the night.
Officials took away several pieces of evidence throughout the day, including a scale with a hook on it used for weighing dogs.
Police said they plan to wrap up their investigation sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Initial drug investigation turns up suspected dog fighting setup on Michael Vick's property
Investigators were originally working on a suspected drug case when they went to Michael Vick's property on Wednesday. On arrival, officials surprisingly discovered a suspected dog fighting setup.
Animal control officers said this is one of the biggest dog fighting cases they have ever seen. Extra help had to be called in from other jurisdictions to help with the investigation.
"Some had significant scarring. Some had wounds. Some had eye problems," said Kathy Strouse from Chesapeake Animal Control.
Court documents stated that 30 animals were found tethered to heavy logging chains attached to car axles buried in the ground. Equipment used to train fighting dogs was found on the property, including treadmills, chains, whips and injectable drugs.
There was no food, water or veterinary care for the animals.
Agents with the regional drug task force were initially investigating Davon Boddie, who lives in Vick's house. Last week, Hampton police charged Boddie with alleged Possession with Intent to Sell. They found bags of marijuana in his car and a gun under the passenger's seat.
Officials were investigating for more evidence when they stumbled upon the dogs behind the house.

Investigation of activities on property owned by Michael Vick widens
The investigation into activities at a palatial home owned by NFL quarterback Michael Vick deepened Thursday after investigators found substantial evidence that several dogs kept on the property were being used for fighting.
Animal control officer told WAVY News that they found 70 dogs on the property. Most of the animals are pitbulls. Some had injuries and scars. Many were malnourished.
Amidst the evidence found was something called a "rape stand"; a device used to tether a female dog so male dogs can have easy access to the female for breeding.
A State Police spokesperson confirmed that the department was working with a regional drug task force. They searched the property looking for evidence and a person. The spokesperson would not tell WAVY News what the evidence is that they were searching for or who the person is.

Are you a lawyer?
Do you know what you are talking about?
Or are you just think you do and are a vick apologist???

If you go smoke weed in somebody's house they are just as responsible as you are since
They let you part take in illegal activity under their supervision, on their property, with their consent.
Without their consent of your smoking on their property no crime would have occurred.
I really hope you never break the law because with your reasoning you'd be in jail.

If you get drunk at a freind's house drive home and kill somebody your freind is partially responsible for letting you drive intoxicated. People have been charged with manslaughter for letting this happen.

The message here is that the owner of the propery is legally responsible for what goes on on his land if it can be proved he was aware of the activites taking place.
Look up the facts before you start spewing words pretending you know the law since you clearly don't judging by your statements.
As a property owner you are responsible for activites that take place on your property it's as simple as that.
Especially if a court of law can prove you had knowledge abou it.

You say there is no evidence he was running it?
Why then did authorities find 3 buildings there were constructed to house dogs (kennels)?
Who paid for those?
Who signed the check to get those built?
Was it Vick's rich nephew or the guy that has a better part of $100M in the bank.

answering your questions
1) Not a lawyer
2) Yes i know what im talking about
3) Nope

So if i come to your house..smoke weed while your not there..you dont even live there actually..youd be responsible as i am? Doubt it..thats like saying if someone smokes weed in front of a restaurant..gets caught..the restaurant owner is reponsible because it happened on his property. Vick wasnt there with him..Vick didnt tell him he could do illegal ****..Vick might not even have known about it!

As far as your last question about Vick not knowing and the 3 building deal..how do you know Vick's cousin isnt rich or didnt buy it? We dont know who paid for it..who decided to run it..who knew about it.

Let the police take care of it. I gurantee your little *****ing letter to NFL wont get there. I say suspend LT because he called out of our coach for unsportsmanship. Will it happen? no way. NFL doesnt listen to fans's opinions on a player. Goodell and NFLPA decides who stays and who goes. Vick hasnt done enough to get suspended.

again..how do u know Vick is fighting the dogs? No article said "Vick goes to that property every day and bets on dog fights and bla bla"

I am not normally the shut the f up police, but come on. Sometimes posts have to be mad fast because one is at work.

Hey, I'm just appreciating the irony of someone telling someone else to educate themselves and, out of every word in the post, misspelling "educate."

again..how do u know Vick is fighting the dogs? No article said "Vick goes to that property every day and bets on dog fights and bla bla"

Your point is ridiculous along with your prior examples. Over 60 dogs were found along with the facilities to house over 60 dogs. Along with this equipment that is designed specifically for dog fighting was found. So how is he not responcible? Do you really think numerous buildings were constructed on his property (along with pens set up) and he did not know it was happening? Sneaking weed into a person's house is very very different from; sneaking 60 dogs, building facilities, and bringing in dog fighting equipment.

Even if (and that is a huge, UNBELEIVEABLE even if) he was not aware he is still responcible.

again..how do u know Vick is fighting the dogs? No article said "Vick goes to that property every day and bets on dog fights and bla bla"

The fact that his neighbor sees Vick there, AND walking dogs... Come on, don't be so naive and put 2 and 2 together. You don't have to bet on dogs to be apart of a dog fighting ring...

"I've seen Michael walking dogs, but it didn't look like a fighting dog," said next door neighbor Earnest Hardy.

Vick Can Be Suspended Without Proving He Was Behind The Dog Fighting. You Are Responsible For What Happens On Your Property, And Pac-man Was Suspended Without Any Convictions.

Bottom Line Nfl Is In A Bad Spotlight Again, This Time Thanks To Vick, Absoulutley Grounds For Suspension.

No, you don't know what you're talking about. If you smoke weed in front of a restaurant and got caught, the restaurant is not responsible. However, if I invite you into my house, or you are living in my house full time, and you get caught, then I am responsible because I willingly put you up in my house. Plus, isn't animal abuse worse than posession of marijuana?
As someone else said, not being convicted doesn't mean you can't be suspended. If Vick really was just as innocent as anyone else, then why don't we hear all these rumors about bad stuff going on around Peyton Manning or Tom Brady? Because they are responsible. Vick is a role model to young fans, and all this stuff certainly makes him a terrible role model.

I wrote my email as you suggested - I believe the NFL should stop this sham and bring c*ckfighting where it belongs - in the forefront of the sportsworld.

As a c*ckfighting advocate I believe it makes sense to have NFL teams - especially the "Falcons" - to sponsor legitimate c*ckfighting competitions.

Let's make c*ckfighting legal so we can regulate it, and ensure that only appropriate length razorblades are used. It's getting harder and harder to find c*ckfighting enterprises that you can trust, and having the NFL as a respected c*ckfighting sponsor can only help to make a bad c*ckfighting situation better.

Hosting c*ckfights in NFL stadiums (at halftime) would be a major step in the right direction as the concession and restroom facilities at most major c*ckfighting arenas are, shall we say, subpar. The beer and whisky are watered down, and with the exception of hot wings and chicken fingers, the price of most food is outrageously high.

So yes, I encourage everyone to email the NFL just as TheBaronPatriot and I did.
