Update: Curran says Belichick has been on the hot seat since 2019

I didn't say I don't like it. I really don't care but I just think it's total nonsense to think that way. If it isn't then I'm sure you can give me an example of one Pats fan who roots for the team to lose.

Now, if you were talking about the clowns who want to tank games for draft picks that's different, but I don't think you were talking about them. Were you?

Triumph.

What's funny about this is that some posters were/are adamant that the Pats couldn't sign Brady to $25M per year in 2020 and had to let him go. Bob Kraft had said they could've signed Tom, but he decided to leave.

If you can't sign a QB to $25M in today's NFL, you are doing something seriously wrong.
The problem isn't they couldn't sign Brady, it's what the rest of the team would look like if they did and Brady saw it coming, that's why he wanted to leave to get another chance at a ring somewhere else.

Damn you should be an oddsmaker because they don’t know what they’re talking about putting the Patriots in February 2020 at +900 to win SB and clear AFC East favorites before Brady left. I see you’re shifting to batshit theoreticals now because you’re cooked.
You fool! Don't you understand how brilliant Belichick is?? He is playing chess while the rest of the League can't even tie their shoes!!

Belichick purposefully has lousy drafts because he doesn't want young players and rookies clogging up the team. He needs veterans veterans veterans!! And why so many veterans? Because veterans know how to win!!!

Story is ridiculous. I believe Kraft is whining. I don’t believe Kraft is going to fire anyone lol

So put the team together if Brady agrees to the tag. That's an even split to at least get communication started. Who do we lose? Lay out the salaries, tell everyone who we would have on the offensive and defensive side to ensure that if we kept Brady we were going to win a Superbowl.
It can't be done. There were to many variables. Jules was done, Gronk retired, the receivers were all rookies or 1,2 year players at best.

I truly believe that TB was more upset with Kraft regarding the immediate AB dismissal. All of us remember how good it felt to have all those guys on the field. There's no doubt in my mind that Brady and Jules couldn't have had Gronk back, if we still had AB, Josh G (for the whole year, Roger can eat Josh Gordons **** for the rest of his life), Sanu, and then the Harry pick don't look so bad.

I believe two things:
Kraft dumped AB because his case was still not cleaned up yet.
He used AB to help him clean his own **** up publicly.
I don't believe that TBs "I'm the most miserable 8-0 QB" was ever directed at BB. I think it was for Kraft for caving in due to ABs legal issues.
If you look at the hype for that team going into that Dolphins game, there is no way you can conclude that either Tom, or Bill, knew what was about to happen. And yes, I do take TBs visit with Miami into account. I think as the season rolled on they would have started talking. Made accommodations that both sides wanted. Go off into the sunset type of agreement.

They were talking before the season.

The most telling thing about the morons who want Belichick fired is that none of them ever name a coach who could replace him and do a better job than he has.

I mean no qb can replace Brady and do a better job, but he is gone. So you are saying that coach will ever be able to replace Bill and that the team is doomed after he leaves becuase no coach ever existed that can take us to a .500 record the last 3 years?

It does when you say something as phenomenally stupid as "veterans know how to win." By your own logic, veterans also know how to lose. And tie.
Go look at SB rosters. What you won't see are many rookies.
Then why does any team have any rookies at all? According to your logic, you should have all veterans. After all, they "know how to win."
Which describes the philosophy of the 2014-2019 Patriots, which is why, when it ended, they had to start over with no middle class of talent.
There is no "factual evidence" in that statement. I can simply respond with the 2019 KC Chiefs. Their superstar QB and WR were each still on rookie contracts.
Rookie contracts and rookie aren't the same thing.
Bottom line is this: It is better to draft well than to draft poorly. NE has drafted very poorly of late. There is only one man responsible for this.
I think New England drafted meagerly in their 5-year run, then choked in 2019. They've drafted very well in the last 3 drafts (and this latest might well be the best of all).

I am amazed they have had a .500 record the last 3 years, while trying to rebuild pretty much EVERY position group. Most coaches would have been in the 4-5 win range with this team, no doubt in my mind.

That’s not what I said. I said that none of those calling for Belichick to be fired has provided the name of their replacement for him. Kraft doesn’t have to fire Belichick, but he does have to replace him when he retires. And no, I don’t believe they will ever find a coach as good as Belichick to replace him, just as I don’t believe they will ever find a QB as good as Brady again. And that’s because both are the GOAT.

That said I do believe they can win more Super Bowl’s, and have more great teams, but I don’t believe they will ever have a 20 year run of multiple Dynasty’s again.

We can all live to 100 and never see a dynasty like BB and TB in our lifetimes. It was just the most amazing run-in professional sports ever. KC might win a couple more if things go right for them but 20 years, 9 Super Bowls, all those AFC Championship games, never.

It does not fall on me to research a point you are trying to make. If you have any evidence that Super Bowl teams have fewer rookies than the League overall does, feel free to present it.

But I wouldn't research Super Bowl 49 if I were you.... You see, Russell Wilson was a veteran and Malcolm Butler was a rookie and veterans just know how to win and rookies don't....

Where did I say they were?

You're right, 49 is a bad example. Butler, the rookie, was put in the game, by a veteran team of coaches (please don't ask who lead that team of coaches) that believed the rookie understood his role for that play. It took a veteran player, Browner, to remind the rookie, both physically and verbally to make sure Butler knew where to be for the oncoming play. Oh, and veteran Browner had played with veteran Wilson in practice before, since veteran Browner was once a Seahawk. Came in handy I guess.

Are you going to continue trolling this board and let the rest of us enjoy how stupid you look or are you going to double down on this anti BB charade and prove it once and for all?

The patriots won as many SBs in 18 years as the average team would win in 192 years.

What's the over/under on eventual pages for this thread ... 100???

You're right, 49 is a bad example. Butler, the rookie, intercepted the veteran who knew how to win the game
FIFY

BTW, you do realize that rookies are what? 10% of the League? So yeah, one would expect there would be only 5 per team in the Super Bowl. I am still awaiting evidence that shows veterans are overrepresented on championship teams.

I was just thinking this.

Curran's reading this and can't wait to get his next Brady/BB article out.
Check it out ... 349 and 304 pages ... 2 in the top 10 ... maybe we get there
