Tyquan Thornton Having a Tough Camp

He will be fine going forward. BOB will put him in positions to excel with his skill set. He's likely going to draw teams 3rd of 4th corner.. I'll take that match up every time.
Based on what though? Belichick will start the players who have earned it. Reports from camp say Mac isn’t even looking at him which would suggest he isn’t getting open. Over the first 11 practices he had only 2 catches on 11 on 11s.

So while we all hope he’ll be fine, there is absolutely no indication right now that’s the case. Right now he has Smith-Shuster, Parker, Bourne, Douglas, and Boutte having better camps than him. Belichick isn’t gonna bench the guys playing better and being more productive.

How do u know that? What evidence gives you assurance that this will happen? Did any of us think BB would have done what he did last season. I don't really base anything off camp.. as I've mentioned you can't get to high or low on camp.. I do know Curran said Thornton was still dealing with something. N'Keal Harry each off season was reported having great camps ect. He still couldn't put it together when given an opportunity. I don't think Thornton is going down the road of draft bust is all I'm saying. He'll have to earn his playing time in wich I think he will.

Hill is 5"11, physical specimen, a speed demon. He was primarily a special teams player he wasn't the player he is now is what I'm saying.. he didn't come into the league his first season and have 1,400 yards receiving. Tyquan is 6,3 slim frame and runs like a Giselle.

I certainly hope he can figure out how to run like a gazelle. Giselle’s don’t typically run fast enough to be nfl WRs.

Training camp is a long process.

Lol.. your right they usually are runway models

Tyler Thornton FLOPPING at training camp? BB failing to DRAFT a good WR yet again?

Wow, so Surprising... NOT!

Well there is good news - our 6th round picks look pretty decent. I'm betting that one of Demario Douglas or Kayshon Boutte end up making the 53.

Training camp is a long process, but at the same time we can be concerned when Thornton should be flashing and instead is being outplayed by a rookie 6th rounder

so The Pats skill player group has devolved so much, that some Patsfans are defending and rationalizing the extremely underwhelming 2d round pick, Tyquan Thornton by saying "he's better than NKeal Harry"...and "his rookie year mirrored Demaryus Thomas"

I'd love to know the ratio in the war room. Who had the balls to say "why are we picking a 4th-5th RD guy, top 50."

Like was there uniform agreement here?

Harry was very much a consensus pick. Thornton is us saying "we know better." It was a home run pick. I understand there were rumblings about Pitt but that's not enough more me to buy into him as a top 50 guy. He should be flashing as our WR1 rn. Not barely making the roster bc of draft capital spent.

I'm sorry but there's rules to this game and the apply to all teams. We're not different. If TT (Strange) aren't making serious noise we need to start asking tough questions about the people pulling the trigger on draft day and/or developing our players.

You saw it with Dugger even though he had his issues in coverage. You saw something. I'm certainly not saying he's a bust but we need to see it this year.

From what I understand on Thornton, his speed was what attracted The team. They knew he had ability and just needed to work on his route running and add to his thin frame.

I agree with you, he needs to show something more this season. But I'm not ready to give up on him. I believe he has to much potential, he had the one element you cannot coach and that's speed. Other guys hung around on this roster and pretty much did nothing in the league.1st and 2nd rounders in 2019 N'Keal Harry, joeun Williams, heck Harry even asked to traded and still remained on the roster. Allow some more time and patience with Thornton would be my thinking.

Or the quality of PatsFans posters has devolved so much some are harkening back to NKeal Harry as a standard of excellence?

Read that today Mac worked with Smith-Shuster, Parker, Bourne, Douglas, Henry, and Gieseki.

Thornton worked with Zappe and other non-starters.

I really don't know what to make of Thorntons camp this season. I just feel like he still gets some slack from BB.. it would be totally disappointing if he was cut when past top draft picks have hung around some even requesting to be traded. I think we just need to wait on calling Thornton a bust IMO

Absolutely zero chance Thornton is getting cut…I mean it’s less than zero. Could he go to IR or PUP? Maybe.

Agreed 100% 10x over!! They aren't tackling to the ground, BB already let the players know to take care of each other.

The offense knows this. If the injury isn't healed by Week 1 yes I can see him on IR come week 1.
