I’d love to see our board.
I don’t know where Bill values him say against Cam or if Jimmy G comes available.
There are things to like, his leadership the way other team mates gravitate towards him the accuracy.
Playing on a loaded team and limited athletic ability, history of underperforming Saban QBs. I’d be very careful no matter the good things Nick says about him.

We also need to adopt the possibility of a trade for Darnold, remember we have his QB coach and Bill has spoken highly of him as has other talking heads in the NFL. He was a second overall pick.
I think our second could get it done. With a new offense and head coach and culture in place in NYJ they will Let Wilson sink or swim right alway.

Who do you think BillB and mgmt see as their QB target in draft?

SF not going to trade JimmyG. They need him as a stop gap. I think Niners will pick Fields or Trey.

For my selfish purposes, either Fields or Trey would be my picks. I think they can get one of the two if they trade with #4, #5, or #7.

Panthers will try to get a QB as well. So, have to be in front of them.

Trade with Lions @ #7 would be ideal, less to give up.

Why would you have them trade down ? This is the perfect draft to trade UP ! They have the draft capital (10 picks) and not many holes to fill. Last thing they need is MORE picks acquired by trading down. #15 overall is a prime slot, take the available players at 15.

If it costs them 15 and two future firsts, no f*cking way. You give that up for a sure thing like Watson (pre allegations). In my opinion, San Francisco was crazy to give up that much draft capital for one of three boom or bust prospects.

I’d take Waddle without hesitation, now you’ve got a dynamic WR1 everyone was hoping for, on a rookie contract for the next 4-5 years. BB has never drafted a WR that high, so it would definitely be different.

Then see if a deal can’t be made for Garoppolo or trade back into the 1st to grab Mac (assuming BB covets him more than the next tier of QBs).

We have no quarterback. Which means we’re right back here next year: bad enough to not win it all a d good enough that our first round picks are never high enough.

The only problem with that is that Darnold is terrible. BB pump the tires of every opponent. If a pile of fresh dog **** was starting for the opposition, he would tell you that it smells like a lavender field.

Alex Smith is still out there, and can be the veteran bridge for the Niners if they decide to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo this year.

I looked at Smith’s numbers from this past season and his yards per game average was actually slightly better than it was from his final season as the Niners full-time starter, back in the 2011 season, when they were a Kyle Williams fumble away from making it to the Super Bowl (to face us, but we know what transpired instead). Not bad for a man who had a life threatening infection and 17 surgeries to get to this point.

It would be quite the story for him to finish his career where it started, while having a chance to groom their next QB of the future. And he’d get a chance to do it with a better group of receiving targets than he had back then. Between that and Jimmy coming home, both franchises would see a return of their prodigal sons. That would be cool.
