Definitely a historically great wide receiver, but he'll be 31 this year and hasn't played more than 10 games in a season or broken 750 receiving yards in a season since 2020...
“Since 2020” in other words, the last two seasons, which isn’t that long. As for those 15 games missed in those two seasons:
2021:
Missed 3 games due to hamstring injury
Missed 4 games due to season ending MCL injury
2022:
Missed 6 games due to suspension
Missed 2 games due to season ending knee strain
In the 19 games that he did play, he accumulated 106 catches for 1289 yards and 11 touchdowns (an average of 95/1153/10 per 17 games played). He was even better last season on a per game basis, and that was largely without Kyler Murray throwing to him.
Hopkins is at the age where wide receivers’ production typically take a nose dive but the numbers haven’t indicated that for him just yet. He’s no longer the top 3-5 WR that he was in his prime, but make no mistake about it he’s still an impact receiver and while I ultimately don’t think he’s coming here, I think that we would be very lucky to have him on this roster.
