I am not apologizing for Polk
he came out of school showing a lot of talent at Wash, and looked good last summer
he had a good start of season for a rookie with a bad QB. 13 targets. 8 rcpts. 1 TD.
game 7 he concussed against Jax and missed the rest of that game, and the following game.
the rest of the season he saw 7 targets, and at some point injured his shoulder that he needed surgery.
he is 23 years old
I am not writing him off yet

Herein lies his pproblem. To be one of the back of the pack players at defensive back or wide receiver you need to contribute on special teams, , especially if you are going to be on the game day roster, Polk, Baker, and Bourne don’t do that.

You can’t shop something that has no value.
You’re not wrong still I’m not convinced that Penix Doesn’t value him.

Plus Wash may want him and a third for if there is any kind of pipe dream chance of matching Scary Terry with Diggs.

61 receiving yards in 4 games for a STARTER playing 60% of the snaps (155 of them) is definitely not a “good start”.

Hence them trying Baker as a gunner today.

I’m guessing that will fail. If Polk doesn’t have experience as a special teams player from college then it’s hard to see him beating out the guys who know how to play on those teams. Mistakes on special teams lead to big plays. But it does demonstrate that his job is on the line.

You usually have some idea why a guy flops. This is a genuinely weird one, unless I'm missing something. He was supposed to be - what? - reliably mediocre or something. He barely seems familiar with the game of football.

AVP said last year "they put too much too soon" on Polk and Baker's plates.

A 7th would give us cap relief and allow us to move on. What we don't want is for him to be injured in camp and
Ehhhhhh. If that's so, Big Brain Josh is gonna make their little heads explode.
Could also be the guys (AVP/WR coach who was a nobody) filling their plates last year had no idea how to coach/teach. guys. My hopes for Polk are slim, but he's not a complete write-off.....yet.

100 percent

He is behind Chism, Williams.

Day two of training camp is done, and it is still early but I am calling out Polk. He is still AWOL and has nothing to offer this team this year. His best case scenario is to get put on IR for a the whole year with Foxboro Flu and then take a one last shot in 2026. I predict he is not making the 53 in 2025.
Trade...send him to Atlanta for a pick. He can latch on with his former QB

I think he broke mentally and cannot recover.

And again Im shocked that we opted for Polk instead of Ladd McConkey. It was obvious on draft day that we made a huge mistake.
Has this not been discussed ad nauseam now?

If that is the case then they need to ship him out before his issues affect others. Get him some help by all means but away from practice. May sound cruel but that's the way it is.

Given where he was drafted and the fact no one really can say what his problem is, I think he will and should get a further look, but if after a full year and a full preseason he's still off the rails, I think you have to give his spot to whatever newbie shines. So far, he's apparently hardly been a participant . The whole thing is weird as heck.

Yes, I’m not saying he should be kept over a more deserving player just because he was a 2nd rd pick, I’m just saying it’s been 2 days of camp, so my slim hope is he gets on the field quick and with some solid coaching maybe something will change. Again, my hopes are slim
