Can Polk be fixed?

What we need to worry about is if they can Grasp McDaniels Playbook: which can be unfriendly to young WR's. IF Polk and Baker Struggled with AVP's High School Playbook: compared to McDaniels: that's out of the frying pan and into the fire. I see Two Proven WR's coming in and I hope Tee Higgins is one of them.
I think the reason Josh’s playbook was so difficult to pick up was because Brady had mastered the offense which to me seems like it will make it even more difficult for a young receiver to pick up. It will be interesting to see how a young receiver learns the playbook with a young QB learning the playbook.

I've said this a few times but as far as I'm concerned whomever was on the roster last year gets a clean slate.

It's obvious Polk had multiple things going on with him. (Over/Under) Confidence, fundamentals, technique, a bit of a 'tude etc. He was a mess.

I think the kid has talent. How much and how the team can best use it i'm not sure.

If he can't get with the Vrabel program, learn the offense, and quit dropping the f-ing football hes gone.
I agree that Polk should be given a chance to compete in training camp, but just like Wallace you don't expect him to make a second year leap.

You either get a vet that can start in front of him or draft a possible replacement

Solving on-field issues alone is one thing, but hard to tell if some of his personality traits that have influenced some of his setbacks are correctable. Will root for him though of course.

At this point, assume (hope?) they’ll invest in a guy who can be a top 2 WR for this current roster on paper. See how it shakes out from there. Will says it’s discouraging he’d have to battle to be a top 4 WR right now on a weak corp, and especially if they add anyone else to there who has a pulse.

The options are Kupp, who will play 12 games, Deebo who is broken down and reportedly out of shape, Christian Kirk who has not done anything in years, or Darius Slayton. We can't make great free agents magically appear. This year stinks for WR.

I like Godwin. Again injuries are a concern and he is currently trying to make it work to stay with the Bucs, but he works and immediately would be the teams best WR.

If not WR has to be a priority entering the draft.

The oline is a problem as well but there is the possibility of fixing it in FA making it less of a priority come draft time

Agreed, but they have to give Drake something to keep developing. He can't play with the same clowns for another season.

Go with slayton and hope he turns into the next jakobi. Release Bourne and coach the crap out of Polk and baker so that they become 400-600 yard receivers

Sign Jackson to man left side and some vet as backup RT.

Jackson, Robinson, strange, Wallace and Onwenu should be a good combo.

Backup - Lowe, new vet swing tackle, Andrews, Conerly Jr. and Sow.

In draft sign Carter/ Hunter / Graham at number 4 and conerly Jr. in late first round as backup Developmental tackle . 3rd round take a flyer on the RB for Ohio tre Hendrickson.

Free agency - DJ reed , sweat and Milton Williams should headline priorities along with nick Bolton/ greenlaw . Resign hooper if he is willing and is a fit.

With this we would have Shored up defense and built a steady offensive line while focusing on wide receiver development. If 3 wide receivers from existing 5 pan out , we strike gold so that next season we can trade up or grab the best wr on board.

I'm in on D Slayton too I think he's much better than regarded. I am not giving C Wallace anything I hope he shows something in TC. That said they're some Good RT Prospects in this Draft better than C Wallace. I am going with the Draft pick just to make sure.

There are right tackle prospects *down the board* better than Caeden Wallace. At least players who can actually play the position.

Wallace was a very, very good player in college
there is no evidence he cannot be very good given health, coaching and snaps

I am not giving up on him yet: but I hope we are not depending on him either. Wallace was way overdrafted GM's do that all the time. I would rather Draft a decent player at a loaded position: than Reach for a Player at a position of Need. More times that not the latter doesn't workout.

Not according to a Poster who watched him regularly in College. He said he was Bad!

Seems to me it would be advantageous to the young WR to have a young QB also new to the playbook in that McDaniels will parcel out its complexities a little bit at a time to both players, whereas with Brady, he was already a master and the young receivers were thrown into the deep end.

I'm not going to give up on a guy after one year but he really needs to kick some ass in camp this year. I don't think he'll be a stud but he still has the opportunity to be a dependable receiver opposite a #1.
