How exactly can they “overhaul” the offense? They don’t have much cap room to begin with and will get even tighter signing Brady. They have one pick in the top 80 of the draft and there’s hardly any worthy FA available. Even declining AJ Green is likely to get Franchise tagged so that’s another potential player gone. The Patriots effort to “overhaul” the offense is a great sign, as is the communication between BB and TB

I agree. I think the Pats will do enough to lure Brady. I really don't believe he wants to leave. As my brother-in-law said who is a Jets fan, you have BB and then the second best HC is 10 spots below Bill. Thanks for posting the only decent article in existence about the situation. I so hope that little weasel Darlington and Schefter are wrong...they are just fanning flames, along with dozens of other “reporters” with absolutely no clue. Curran is the only one who clearly has knowledge of the situation and doesn’t have some piping hot take whereby he claims some sensational headline.
I think Brady comes back. The Patriots effort to “overhaul” the offense is a great sign, as is the communication between BB and TB. Anyone who thinks these two are adversaries or need to “prove he can win without the other” is a gullible idiot.
Can they cut him at this time even though he said dealing with an injury? They can cut Sanu and save $6.5M.

Look at past Pats history. They have overhauled many times. 2000-2001. Perhaps BB's best overhaul. 2006-2007. Went from one of the worst Os to an historic O. 2013-2014- More of a defensive over haul but a huge one. There are other ones too like 2009-2010 when they drafted both Gronk and Hernandez. How exactly can they “overhaul” the offense? The real twist is Brady returns because nobody wants to sign a soon to be 43 year old.

You may be jumping the gun a bit with the idea that these teams are going to throw their young, star, franchise QBs out of the window to sign ANY other player for only two years, let alone one that’s coming off a down year where he battled some nagging injuries and would be playing at the age of 43 or potentially 44.
Prescott is NBC Sports’ #1 ranked free agent on its top 100 list, and Garoppolo is coming off a game where he was ten minutes away from being the MVP of the Super Bowl.
2009 to 2010 was significant as well.Look at past Pats history. They have overhauled many times. 2000-2001. Perhaps BB's best overhaul. 2006-2007. BB is not limited in the ways other teams are. He is the best team builder in the business.
If you play it backwards he says "I buried Paul"
I'd take back Garoppolo in a heart beat for the right price. He's never going to be Brady but can he win a few super bowls? Yeah, I think so.
AB basically didn't play last season.
So what does he get for a suspension? 8 games? Plead down to 5 or 6 games. Well worth picking AB up for 10 games of his production, plus his availability for the post season.
