In a discussion about BPA I said that rather than viewing players in a strict numerical order (prospect 3 on your big board is BPA over prospect 4 or 5 for eg), you should look at them in tiers ( prospects 3,4 and 5 have similar grades and you should take the one that best improves the team). Read paragraph 2 from Vrabel:

Sounds like we would reject an offer to trade down at this point. Can’t say I love it but I at least understand the pick. He’s gonna be under some intense and probably unfair scrutiny. Hope he ‘s ready for it.
