I can't believe I am typing this, but you may be right...losing to the Giants might have been enough to slow this train down and shut people up.

Yup. In the long run, it'll most likely benefit the Patriots and their fans to have lost this super bowl.

I think people don't care as much anymore because of two reasons:

1) The NFL season is over so people are worried about other things.

2) The Giants won the super bowl so even though most people believe the Patriots cheated, they still feel like karma got them in the end and they were denied the trophy.


If the Patriots had won the super bowl, I think this would be bigger news since the fans of every other team would want their championship to be taken away.

I agree, concerning the situation with Spygate, it's best the Pats lost. I know that wasn't the case for the fans or the team, but it did at least take the edge off this latest take on Spygate. Now many think the Patriots got what they deserved and now they been punished enough, time to move along.
