Summary: The material the NFL produced was not to specification.

The United States legal system simply informed the NFL to correct it and did not punished it in any way.

Hmmmm, now THERE'S a novel approach.

No, not from the Onion...

NFL Deflategate appeal ordered to be refiled because they used the wrong color cover

"With all the NFL’s lawyers and paralegals working on this, they couldn’t be bothered to find an intern to go through the submission checklist and make sure the cover was correct?"

The NFL League Office...stupid silly.
Maybe this explains the Nike TNF uniforms; they are colorblind at NYJFL HQ.

Borg, sorry to step on you. I jumped for the keyboard before reading as far as your post.

These guys truly are ******s, after the Brady appeal they were in such a hurry to file in Manhattan that they didn't sign the appeal and the court had to send it back to them to sign the brief.

LOL, in the NFL's defense (and believe me, I find it difficult to defend them), usually the Appellant's cover is blue and the Appellee's cover is red. I have never heard of yellow, and in fact, most federal court submissions these days are electronic. But, as others have pointed out, you think they'd check these things out ahead of time.

I see what you did there. Clever.

That was quite a list of reasons. Think they could've checked the list before submission?

They were confused, Roger couldn't remember is he the Appellant or the Appelee

Practically what does this mean, are the dates pushed back or do they just run off to staples to fix it?

Practically it means nothing. Just a federal court being a formal fussbudget, although I suppose if they neglect to resubmit in a timely fashion their appeal would eventually be dismissed. That would be a good one!

Clearly they were using a different color in an attempt to gain an unfair advantage, and they were generally aware that the wrong color was being used.

Obviously the correct color for ANY NFL legal correspondence is GUTLESS YELLOW.

They should be investigated for attempting to bias the judge with the cover color.

I can save them the dollar and piss on it for them.

Didn't they have to refile one of their earlier filings too? IIRC, the original Motion to Confirm the Arbitration Award was messed up and they had to refile that.
