Let me expound by saying although I felt that Matt was clearly our best option, including vets, as a #2, I am far from confident at this time that he is capable of bringing us 10 or more wins. Hope to be proven wrong.

That aside, he's human and will have a couple bad games. Hope they're in contests we weren't gonna win anyhow.

Remember the debate in pre-season? It wasn't what "potential backup QB can win us the SB." The criticism of Cassel was most folks felt that if Brady was out for four weeks would equal 4 losses. The demand was for a QB that could go 2-2 if Brady was out for 4 weeks, so we would still be a playoff contender when Brady returned. Cassel has already met that test. Winning 7-9 games this season blows away the expectations of "cut Cassel crowd" who claimed that if Brady was to go down in the first game the Patriot 08 record would mirror the Dolphin 07 record.

Who cares? As long as he performs, I'm good. Cassel should be able to pick apart a pretty weak Fins defense. If he looks terrible, I"ll be worried. But he shouldn't if he keeps playing within himself.

The Matt Cassel fan club is taking memberships applications.

There are several levels:

Charter member. This is the highest level of membership. In order to be considered a charter member you must have done one or more of the following:

1) Defended Cassel's performance in the pre season;
2) Predicted he would make the team; or
3) Defended his making the team prior to the KC kick off.

President's Gold Club - May have doubted Cassel in preseason, but after watching Cassel lead the team to victory of KC are convinced BB made the right choice.

Visitor - Still unsure and need to see one or more games before committing to Cassel.

Hater - Wants BB to acquire a Vet. You are not allowed to join, GFY.

Those who are currently visitors will have the right to upgrade to President's Silver Club any time between the end of the Jets game and the kick off of the Dolphins game, visitors will also then be able to upgrade to Bronze after the Dolphin's game and up to week 8. After week 8 only general membership applications will be accepted.

Nice Thread i voted Visitor...still unsure...Cassel is still a work in progress.

Obviously I'm a Charter member. But I did that on the scouting recommendation of a scout whose opinion I respect. Some fellow with the initials BB, that I know the haters detest, and constantly question his judgement as inferior to thier own exalted opinions.

If Matt is good enough for him, he is good enough for me, too. As usual, events are revealing the wisdom of that unrespected scout.

My membership would be a lot higher if the OL would do a better job protecting him. Give him enough time to throw and he can be well above average. I see far too many plays where he's got no time at all.

That's suicide...you cannot script long developing plays with Nick Kaczur as your RT.
