The Jets suck (merged)

The same could be said for every coach and team. I rememeber a few scathing articles threads about Belichick last year, especially so in the aftermath of the Colts game. No team is truly immune to that.

With that said I would like to think Rex has earned a bit of good will from last years run...so maybe week 3.

Yeah and the victory-starved Jester fans loved Mangenious after he produced a better record than Wrecks too. But he was then thrown under the bus when the Fav-re screwed up his shoulder, at season's end.

Despite what Pats fans think of Mangini, he rebuilt the Jets. D'brickashaw, Mangold, Harris, Revis, are all Mangini draftees...

The 1 td was a quick slant from the goal line that was played perfectly by Brady and Moss and was pretty much undefendable. Sure Moss and Brady won that battle but considering that was the worst damage done by them over two games I would give the nod to Revis who had at least two interceptions on balls thrown to Moss in those games.

But what about the multiple camera shots they showed of 4, thats right 4 jets all covering moss? Is that ALL Revis?

Well I should know better than to argue this considering how many cameras the Patriots like to have around.

I guess I'll give it a shot though. So if there really were 4 guys on Moss how come Brady couldn't find anyone else to throw it too? I mean that's a huge numbers mismatch.

I'm sure Revis playing airtight covereage, reading the ball better than Moss and putting himself in position for a clean pick had nothing to do with his success...

He did. Brady threw for 310 yards. The score of that game was 31-14 in favor of the Patriots.

Whats your excuse for the 9 points the Pats scored in the first game?

you just threw up the white flag on this argument by bringing up the first game..

How so? Are we only allowed to discuss games the Pats won?

Revis shut him down in both games, He was 5 for 34 with a td in the second one, and 4 for 24 in the first and had Revis pick a 1 on 1 pass. Sure Moss got the 4 yard TD but it was a goal line play 1 on 1 and eventually Moss is going to win a battle.

If there were 4 guys on Moss like you say than there is no way Brady and co only score 9 points in the first game, no way.

The second game of course seems to help your case and is why you want to focus on it but that game was more a function of the game getting out of hand early and no one being able to cover Welker over the middle. But really, who can cover Welker over the middle?

Considering Wes Welker was not in the starting line-up and it was only Brady's second game back since knee surgery, it should come as no suprise that the Pats lost the first game. Jets fans should have been worried about how close that game was through three quarters, but instead all we heard was how they were ready to take over the division and how they were Super Bowl bound and how the Patriots were done, blah, blah, blah. That's the reason for the big Week 2 Super Bowl winners joke here last year. Fast forward nine weeks with Brady getting better each week and Welker back in the starting line-up and the Patriots, even with the raging issues they still had on offense at that point in time, and the Patriots put up 431 yards of total offense and 31 points on the Jets.

when you are covering someone and they score a TD, that is NOT shutting down.

Nice ramble and all but what does this have to do with the Revis vs Moss argument?

And the Jets were very close to that superbowl trip.

Ok, if thats your definition of shutting down and yards or catches have no bearing than I can't argue that.

Whats funny though is you celebrate the one time he beats Revis 1 on 1 but any other time Moss comes up empty against him or has his ball picked its because half the Jets defense was on him.

If we talk about any games besides the one this conversation started over..lets just go back to 2007.

again..because they were given a free ride into the playoffs..but lets just keep ignoring that.

It was a clarification.
