The Jets suck (merged)

It's easy to see why you'd like to dismiss that decade as fast as possible. The Patriots were rather dominant weren't they. Some would say the most dominant side in all of professional American sport. Must be hard being under that sort of considerable shadow with your shining light being a lost AFC Championship game. Whatever floats I suppose.

Fortunately I am confident that Patriots will finish above the Jets this season because we're better than you and the Jets suck.

Unfortunately, Rex Ryan's Gut also fails to realize that we're quickly becoming the younger team than the Jets. For your sake, Gut, I would hope that your team wins it all this year. Because it certainly appears as if the wheels are going to fall off (not due to age, but due to salary restrictions which should certainly be back in place) after 2010.

You are living in the past. The Patriots haven't won a playoff game in two years.

If I was subconsciously afraid of the Jets, I would have an account on GangGreen or JetsInsider the way I have accounts on the Colts and Chargers forum. This past offseason, I registered an account on FinHeaven to participate in a conversation, but haven't used it yet. I don't even lurk the Jets forums. You, on the other hand, are quite the regular here. Why is that? I know it isn't for the scintillating Jets conversation that we have over tea here at PatsFans. So why do you think you're here?
Because I'm bored at work.

Quite possible.

Um, well, gee, let's see. In 2008, our MVP quarterback went out in Week 1 with a bad knee injury. That could have impacted it. In 2009, you won't find me arguing with you that we had some issues, some of them which still need to be addressed. The problem here is Jets fans such as yourself absolutely refusing to admit that the Jets have any problems of their own.

How's that Revis contract situation working out for you, for example? What happened with him yesterday? A little lightheaded?

Because I'm bored at work.

I didn't know McDonald's let their employees use the computer.

Everything is in the past. If you want the now then fine. We have a better head coach, a better player roster, a better stadium which is our own, wear nicer uniforms and have better fans than the Jets. The Jets suck. That's the now.

And btw.. the AFC Championship game which you lost.. was in the past

The Revis situation looks ugly. No denying that. In the end though, the Jets control his rights for the next three years, and if he doesn't want to sign for something reasonable, such as 12m/year, then **** him. He isn't bigger than the team and should not be paid Peyton Manning money. Rex would be able to live without him. He never had a CB even close to Revis' level while running the defense in Baltimore. In the end though, I think he'll sign long-term. And the "lightheaded" excuse was an absolute joke. I'd rather he didn't even show up to practice if that is the crap he's going to pull.

Don't knock my McDonald's job. Times are tough in this economy.

I'll re-post this:

I'll present Pats fans with this regarding Sanchez;

Last year, 15 of his 20 interceptions came in 4 games. It wasn't like he was throwing one or two picks every week consistently, he just had some disastrous games. I think that the Jets' coaching staff let him free a bit too much after his good 3-0 start. Then, when they got back to basics and limited him, the team started having success. Also, he was able to grow as a QB from being limited. He realized his role and was able to play like rookie QBs always should, especially on good teams. Manage the game.

Of course, you saw what his future is when he played his best ball of the year in the Playoffs. Stats were 4 TDs, 2 INTs, and a 90+ QB rating. And his best game of the year was in Indianapolis in the AFC Championship. That's pretty impressive to most.

So what is your response to Mark Sanchez performing better than any rookie QB in playoff history? Is he going to suck because he had 4 regular season games in which he threw 3+ INTs?

No, he's going to suck because he can't handle consistent pressure, has trouble throwing downfield outside the hashmarks, and thinks he can make any throw when he can't.

Now, if he gets past those things, he might be something worthwhile. Start holding your breath.

You're all scared, subconsciously. Time to face reality.
Scared of what?
We have 3 SB rings in the last 10 years.
We have been first or tied for first in the division 10 years in a row.
We won more playoff games in the last 10 years than you have in your franchise history.
The Jets had a 7-7 season aided by giveups and shuffled the roster around a little with no appreciuably difference and we are scared? Of what?
It would actually be nice if you finally provided us with some competition.
This thread was started for fun, and directed at the Jets because they have the most annoying fan base in America. It has contiued on mostly because that annoying fan base still thinks a football team accomplishes something by people thinking they are going to be good in June.

What you fail to realize is you're also quickly becoming the less talented team.

For one, you don't know that. We have a ton of rookies and young guys starting at key positions. From what I can see, the Pats problems last year are as follows...

1. WR outside of Moss and Welker.
2. Health issues on the interior O-Line.
3. TE.
4. RDE.
5. ILB and OLB.
6. CB.
7. Issues in the locker room.

WR we drafted for with Hernandez (he'll be lining up in the slot more than on the LOS) and Price. Also Tate, who showed tremendous ability to get behind defenses in what little playing time he got last year before he went to IR, is coming back and Brady has been very vocal about how much he likes him. Much more than most. Time will tell but at the very least, we should have a slight improvement at that position. O-Line worries me still. Stephen Neal is back but he was the reason for those health issues. However, Vollmer is in his second year and if his health holds up (no reason to believe it won't as of right now), he should show a marked improvement. Of course there is the Mankins situation, and I'm hoping Kaczur can step in without a significant drop-off. TE was addressed to a "T" in the offseason. We have one of the league's best blocking TE's in Crumpler, Gronk looks like a beast, and (as a Gator fan) I'm high on Hernandez whether he lines up in the slot or on the LOS. We have a slew of bodies at RDE. God only knows how they will do. It isn't a far cry to expect an improvement over Jarvis Green from last season, but how much of an improvement that is remains to be seen. Seymour's loss really hurt us in 2009. We have very capable bodies at ILB, but two of them are unproven. One came with a lot of hype but spent '09 on IR and the other is a mean, menacing rookie. Personally, I think the latter will be the starter on the opening day roster. But that's only my guess. OLB depends on the ability of Shawn Crable to stay on the field and Jermaine Cunningham's ability to pick up the defense quickly as well as TBC's continued presence in the pass rush. I'm not holding my breath for a significant improvement in that area. CB we addressed by bringing back Bodden, Butler looked improved at the end of 2009 (compared to the beginning) and should take another step, and we addressed another question mark in that area by drafting McCourty. As for the issues in the locker room, Mr. Springs and Mr. Thomas are still looking for work as we speak.

That's my assessment of where we're at right now. Even with all of these young bodies, there are still the pieces in place that should ensure that we're competitive in the AFC. Any contributions those young bodies give us right off the bat are extra positives. At the very least, I expect the WR and TE positions to be improved from last year on the offense and the ILB and secondary to be improved on the defense. The issues in the locker room should be taken care of as well with some underproducing bad apples being expelled and some guys on both sides of the ball ready to take up leadership positions (Spikes already looks like he's ready, heh). Those same locker room issues that plagued us last year look to be ready to plague you should you guys open up the season on a losing skid. Like I said before, it's not out of the realm of possibility that you open up the season 1-2 in your division with the best run blocking O-Lineman gone and your new toy in the receiving corps being suspended. It all hangs on Sanchez. In that light, you Jets fans had better hope that you're right and he does play better than in 2009. If he doesn't, you'll be in trouble right out of the gates.

Oh, and one more thing. The most talented team isn't always the best team. Just ask the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers from recent seasons.

More idiotic, Jest or Faker fans?

Faker fans are pretty ******ed but I'd still go with Jest fans.

True, but I happen to think the Jets have better coaching than both of those teams, even on a Pats board I think that will be hard to argue.

This "better coaching" would include the same Schottenheimer that about 99.999999999999999999999999999999999% of Jets fans wanted run out of town prior to last year, right?

You Jets fans are priceless.

You claim to know the minds of all Jet fans?

Schotty was given a raw deal in 2008 with a gunslinger QB who came into camp late and had to adapt to an offense on the fly. I think he did a great job considering the circumstances and the Jets O had a pretty good year up until Favre's arm fell off.

With that said of course I am focusing on Rex and the guys he brought in. The entire team attitude has changed for the better and the players actually enjoy playing for him, imagine that Mangini. Not to forget the unheralded guys on the staff like Callahan and Westy, up there with the best in the league at what they do.

Yeah, that's it. It's not as if it was publicly known that the fans hated the guy.

He was hated before Favre. But you keep up with the revisionist history if it makes you feel better.

Yes, you're focusing on the guys that the fans didn't already hate, and ignoring the good guys on the opposing staffs. I get it. It's a joke, but I get it.
