Trade what? Or who? This team is short on capital pretty much everywhere -- draft picks, players and cap room. Painful free agent departures are on the horizon which will suck big time if a fat contract for Brady is behind some of them. They always explore everything, so a trade or two is possible.
How are they short on draft picks? They’ve got three 3rd rounders and four 6th rounders? Don’t they have the most picks out of any teams? If not, they have to be in the top few.Trade what? Or who? No second-round pick, no fifth-round pick. Sure, they have a first, three thirds and a fourth, but they need to use SOME picks on rookies. Half their available picks -- three sixes and three sevens -- are at the bottom of the draft, hardly valuable as trade chips. I dunno, I'm feeling pretty pessimistic right now about this team's 2020 prospects in general. How are they short on draft picks? They’ve got three 3rd rounders and four 6th rounders? Also, they have about 50m in available cap room, with guys like Sanu and Cannon that could easily clear up another 10m. I’m not seeing how it’s that much different than any other year, aside from the concern at QB.
Shawn Bradley Jefferson? Can we build our own player like in Madden? I’d build a 7’6” white guy with 4.1 speed.
We could bring in 2 WR's at $5M AAV and $10 AAV for a total cap cost of $8.5M. We would cut Sanu so the total cap cost would be $2M. I listed the AAV's at $5M and $10M. They could be higher without affecting the 2020 cap.
Belichick might spend a bit more, but this seems in the ballpark.
PLAYER 1 (3/$30M) - CAP HIT $5M
salaries: $2M, $9M, $10M
bonus: $9M/3 yr
adding or subtracting from 2021 and 2022 salaries would not affect the 2020 cap
PLAYER 2 (3/$15M) - CAP $3.5M
salaries: $2M, $4M, $4.5M
bonus: $4.5M/3 yr
adding or subtracting from 2021 and 2022 salaries would not affect the 2020 cap
Taco Fall would be cheap. Can we build our own player like in Madden? I’d build a 7’6” white guy with 4.1 speed.
Yes.Isn't that mortgaging future cap space?
He would be the first player to literally break in half from contact. Can you imagine that guy in a football helmet? He'd look like a lollipop.Taco Fall would be cheap.
I’d love to watch him run a route. He’d look like a video game glitch. An abnormality. He would be the first player to literally break in half from contact. Can you imagine that guy in a football helmet? He'd look like a lollipop.
He'd look like a giraffe. I can't imagine him trying to make a cut at full speed.I’d love to watch him run a route. He’d look like a video game glitch. An abnormality.

I posted in the draft forum that I think the perfect WR to target this off-season is Odell Beckham Jr. He is an elite talent and BB has shown interest in him before, but what makes him a great fit is that he doesn't have any guaranteed money left on his deal.
This is something we've tossed about a bit in some earlier thread(s). It would have to start with the Browns being willing to move him to the Patriots with him coming willingly. And that would all but certainly have to start with Brady being brought back.
