Sidney Jones would be great in my opinion. Like I said before, if his medicals school check out...and I trust BB and Co, they need to target him. Best player available.

Torn ACL, right? Season ender but not a career ender. So he spends his rookie year on IR and we go with Malcolm Butler playing for a big contract. Works for me.

Honestly, biggest winner last night was the Patriots.

Not only did they acquire Brandin Cooks with #32, but due to Lattimore falling to New Orleans, they essentially get to hang onto Malcolm Butler for another year.

Cooks and retaining Butler. That's a win.

Exactly. Keeping JG does not mean a decision has been made about Brady it just means he's keeping JG for another year.

Exactly. Its a good school of thought to not make a decision if you don't have all the information to make a decision.

When the time is right, BB will go into stop-loss mode with TB12. He just needs a stock to replace him in his portfolio. Right now that is Jimmy.

No, ruptured achilles. He said he'll be ready by september.

This is exactly the attitude that has them where they are.

Entering competition for Darnold a year early?
Prefer competing for the win every single week.
Losing is a bad habit. Wears on players.

Personally I like what the Browns are doing. I think they've upgraded their defense and added a TE. Will they work out? Who knows.

But I think they've positioned themselves for picking up one of three QB's. Kirk Cousins, JG or Peterman. With the draft capital they have they could pick up Cousins and Peterman.

Kirk Cousins is by far the most proven of the three. If I'm the Browns I'd go hard after him. "YOU LIKE THAT...YOU LIKE THAT"

JG has shown good stuff but I don't get the Rodgers comparisons. He looks real good but for only two games.

I'm not a draftnik but some are high on Peterman and may be worth a second. Have a veteran in Cousins with a developmental rookie. I hate throwing a rookie into the fire as a permanent starter without a year to acclimate.

Anyways they have 11 picks left in the first three rounds of this year and next year's draft.

Cousins won't win you a superbowl. there is no point in going from being bad to average in this league.

Understood.
But could & would are two dangerous words.
BB is betting on can and will. Thankfully Pats & this board has him.

No Cousins or Garoppolo or Darnold or any QB will turn their story around with that attitude.
I don't think Tom would have this success in NE without the culture fundamentals BB brought in.

Consider the Texans.

If you include the cost of ridding themselves of the horrible Brock Osweiler decision, they essentially traded two 1st round picks and one 2nd round pick for Deshaun Watson.

I love the smell of desperate incompetence in the morning.

I agree.

The Browns are being VERY smart managing their assets.

What we don't know is if they will have a good team but at least they are accumulating draft capital and cap space to give themselves a fighting chance.

Has anyone ever told you that you look an awful lot like John Wayne?

Just to remind us that teams are practicing and have new info about their current rosters that nobody else does..

Kirk Cousins could win you a superbowl. He'd need more help than Brady would but he's good enough to win a Super Bowl.

That aside he definitely can get a team into the playoffs.

I've had a feeling all along that Belichick is loading up for brady to win No. 6 next year and then move on from him in 2018. Last night's not trading of JG has made me more a believer. I really hope I am wrong since I would love to see brady stay here until he's 45.

Despite having an aging HOF QB, if you feel you have the next Aaron Rodgers sitting on the bench, you have to move on. I'm not saying JG is the next Rodgers, but Belichick would have a much better feeling about this. Perhaps this is his thinking. He shocked us before with Lawyer Malloy, Moss, Law, Seymour, etc.

I can't even believe I'm hearing people think Brady only has one more year left. Did you guys watch football last few years? Brady has literally gotten better with age, ability to move in the pocket, escape from the pocket, deep ball, everything has gotten better. That guy is going to play at a level higher than 90% of the league until he's 45 years old.

Well _ya_ know pil-grim if _ ya_have _a _problem _with _the_ way _I _look, _ya _better _have _some_ steel _on_ ya_ hip....

Love John Wayne. Rooster Cogburn is one of my favorite characters.

Thought Jeff Bridges did a great job in the remake. Problem was I kept waiting for him to say, "Dude, he peed on my carpet!" or "The Rooster abides".

I think he's playing great too. But Belichick is probably going to evaluate him next year just to see if he can continue to play at the same level. With Brady it's uncharted territory. In the history of this league NO quarterback has played so well at age 39. I think belichick will take it year-by-year.

Well that's hard to argue with. I like their HC but I'm not sure how much time I'd give him to right the ship. After this slew of draft picks you would imagine at least two years before you started seeing moderate success.

I agree with you about Tom. He would not have had the same success if had been drafted by Jeff Fisher or the like.

Were those Bo0's i heard every time the NFL dictator stepped on stage. Just imagine if the draft was held in Boston.
