The 2012 season: the Jets [Mod Edit: STILL] suck

OK, what the hell IS that thing? Part human baby, part fish? Must be toxic chemicals causing birth defects in Jersey.
Poor child looks like he's trying to induce self vomiting upon hearing the news he has been born into a Jets supporting family. Oh the Gods of karma.

I think it's pretty clear right now that the people on JI are in denial. Think about it, coming into the 11' season, they were coming off an AFCCG chamionship berth, had scored their first major victory of the decade against the Pats, and were confidant that Sanchez would take the next step and lead them to the SB. The collective morale and ego of Jets nation was at a fever pitch. As the season carried on, and the Jets started shooting themselves in the foot, fans were angered. To add insult to injury, they also had to witness the worst possible SB match-up for their fanbase. So when free agency rolls around, Jest fans are confidant that they can pick up a Peyton Manning or another big player to put them back in the discussion of "championship team". Instead they get the irrelevant acquisition of Tim Tebow, and do nothing but watch as the Pats and the Bills get better. Now faced with the dilemma of going from a presumed SB contender to being 3rd in the division, Jets fans can do nothing but lie to themselves about how great their team is. Or you know, they just might have drunk so much lead infested water that they've all gone completely insane.

... and Rex,now that he's lost all that weight and can finally see his feet, will he ever look up and notice that he's in charge of the Insane Clown Posse?...

This is revelatory. Wrecks can see his own feet FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS! Given the man's fetish compulsion, this is bound to be a significant distraction. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "shoegaze."

I love this quote from the thread:

I 100% agree you can also throw Smith who dropped the touchdown at the end of the game in there its ridiculous and Patriots fans say we're over hyped. GIVE ME A BREAK I really think they're in for a rude awakening this year don't be surprised if they don't win the division I can easily see then finishing in third.

If the Pats finish third in the AFC East, does that mean the Jets will finish eighth?

This "best Jets team in 30 years" thread is pure comedy gold.

Read the post about the Patriots basically being the Bills...

Um, in case you haven't noticed, the Pats are nothing more then the Buffalo Bills of the 1990s at this point, you haven't won a SB in 7 years. You love to point out to us that making an AFC champ game is meaningless, well then so is making a SB and losing.

Say what you want about the "trend" but Brady is another year older as is welker, and other then Brandon Lloyd, you didn't add a meaningful non rookie to the team either.

Yes, other than winning 3 Super Bowls (compared to 0), going 16-0 one season and getting double digit wins 9 years in a row (compared to 4), it's tough to tell them apart.

Other than adding a stud WR who fits seamlessly into this offense and addresses a major need from last year's Superbowl team, the Pats didn't add a meaningful piece (other than Scott, Fanene, Gaffney, Gregory, Gallery etc.). Meanwhile the Jets went to work adding two enormous biceps to decorate the hot tub, a motivational speaker and a defective O-lineman who was promptly returned to Wal Mart.

Sorry, you missed the other thread about Antonio Cromartie being the Jets' second best WR. Apparently the Jets have a far superior WR corp than the Pats outside of Welker and Brandon Lloyd is washed up.

This thread is almost as comical as the "Best Jets team in 30 years" thread.

I don't mind being compared to the Bills of the 1990s. I don't get why they get so much crap for going to 4 straight Super Bowls. That was easily the best non-Super Bowl winning feat in league history. I never got why people treat Super Bowl losers like they went 2-14. In many fans eyes, it is worse to lose the Super Bowl than go 8-8.

Oh but you're wrong according to this genius on JI. I have to admit though that the entertainment value on JI has been enormous for me.

The only thing the Patriots have over NY in regards to offense are A.) Brady and B.) Welker. That's it.

The funny thing is that other than Mangold, there isn't a Jets' starter on offense who would definitely start on the Pats' offense this year. Ferguson maybe. Otherwise, not a single Jets' offensive starter would start on the Pats.

EDIT: until Ridley proves he is a solid RB, I guess you can add Shonn Greene to the list of Jets' offensive players who might start on the Pats' offense. Although he is no prize. I would rather have BJGE over Greene. Both are similar in production, but BJGE doesn't drop the ball.

He was banned when he was posting under the screen name Defensewinschampionships because he would start endless posts like the ones he started today (Best Jets' team in 30 years).

Yeah!!! I mean...what other team in the NFL would want Gronkowski or AHern instead of that world beater Bustin Keller??? Of course...what the hell is the matter with Patriots fans...and all other fans of all other NFL teams????

The stupidity evinced in that thread is truly impressive.

Anytime you complain about us Pats fans drinking too much kool-aid I am going to remind you about these two JI threads. I almost think it is a shtick, they are that ridiculous.

Sadly, there have been threads like that right here on Patsfans.com. The difference has been one of degree, not kind.

Putting aside the receiver talk what's more hilarious to me is that he thinks he is a physical player.

He has always been a gutless worm. POS.

In other news, the Otah Era is officially over, as he was returned to Carolina after failing another physical.
Observe over the next few days as Hunter becomes elevated back to a guy who had a great offseason got extra coaching and is serious about having an incredible year. One week of that, and it becomes Jetfact.
