OMG, What a trash article. I hurt myself laughing at that ! Nice find.

Just curious, other than hating the Jets and wanting them to fail (which I would expect, so no complaints there) what is so trashy about that article?

Well for one, he doesn't mention the porous run defense the Jets have had this season. Something which has boggled my mind. And if they don't shore that up they won't go anywhere in the playoffs, let alone be there.

That is just the preview for the entire Insider article.

Towards the end he mentions how the Patriots buried the Jets by opting to run late.

I think everybody wants to face el Sanchez in the playoffs. :beatingcoming:

Also, do you remember your last playoff game?....

do YOU remember the last 42 years?

Bringing up irrelevant points again...

This article and discussion pertains to the current Jets only.

You are a moron...this THREAD pertains to "The Jets Suck"...now run on back to Gangrenesewer and declare victory, pinhead.

The lead portion of the story is misleading, at best. The Jets haven't actually taken down any good QBs this season. Rivers and Romo both imploded, largely with unforced errors, and Miami and Jacksonville had bad QBs under center.

So no credit can be given to the defense for those performances?

It wasn't just talking about this season, but their resume in general over the past year or two.

You can't admit they aren't good at slowing down top QB's, even Tom Brady at times.

I can admit to pretty much anything, if I think it's true. In this case, I was responding to the article:

But while the Jets aren't yet great, they can, more than any team right now, take down great quarterbacks.

That's a very misleading statement by Dilfer, because it implies that the Jets HAVE taken down great quarterbacks this year, when they really haven't. Dilfer's essentially trying to say that the Jets brought down Rivers/Romo (note his calling them key wins), when both of those QBs wet themselves and pissed away leads without really being pressured into it.

I realize that you're a Jets homer, but use your head.

We're all homers to an extent for our teams, it just comes with rooting for them.

I'm a fan of my team, and I cheer for them on game day, no matter what the odds. When I'm analyzing/evaluating them though, I'm as objective as possible, and I don't defend someone just because they're part of the team I root for. I don't really see any benefit in lying to one's self about the abilities of my team, because that just sets people up for letdowns that they never needed to have. I may get some wrong, in either direction, but I make an honest attempt to be neutral when discussing it.

You, on the other hand, try blowing smoke up everyone's ass. That's fine on a homer board, but it kills your credibility with anyone who tries to be fair and reasonable. We've got the same thing here with some of the over-the-top Patriots homers. We don't all coddle them (although far too many do), and we're certainly not going to coddle a Jets homer pulling that same sort of crap here.

Why, when I read your screen name, did I see NYET? Are you Russian, by any chance? That must be what fans of the New Jersey Green Beans in Russia call themselves -- the Nyets. :singing:
