This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

We also all very well acknowledge how good of a coach Belichick is, we also acknowledge he got busted for cheating which taints many of his accomplishments, this isn't spin, this isn't conjecture from Jets fans, this is absolute FACT.

RayRay, you nasty miscreant, your venom is so unfounded. Get this through your thick head once and for all: Belichick was NOT "busted for cheating." The commissioner himself acknowledged this and further acknowledged ON THE RECORD that the Patriots gained no timely competitive advantage from the taping practice found to have been in violation of procedural rules. Many, many other league authorities, from Jimmy Johnson, Bill Cowher, etc., etc. on down have dismissed "spygate" as misguided overkill.

Keep in mind where you are -- your spin/conjecture/delusions do not fly here. Nor does your abundantly apparent bitterness toward the Patriots (and, seemingly, life in general).

Whoa, here come the personal attacks.

I'm sure Belichick did nothing wrong, the lost draft picks and 1/2 million dollar fine was all a side-show... Afterall, Jimmy Johnson, Bill Cowher, etc, etc all had to pay equally as much... Oh wait...

I have no bitterness towards the Pats, they've had an amazing run, Belichick is a great coach, Brady is a great QB, I "CAN'T WAIT" until it comes to an end!

That's the funny about Jets fans. They've got serious Patriots envy. Yes, we have a lot threads this week about the Jets, but the Jets have several Patriots threads going every week. Even many of the Jets fans comment about the Patriots envy over there.

Also, the Jets fan are like 911 Truthers and believe there is some kind of league-wide conspiracy to protect and help the Patriots and that Goodell is in Kraft's back pocket. The whole Goodell destroying the tapes to hide additional cheating by the Patriots is ridiculous. Seriously, say Belichick did additional forms of cheating, why would he not destroy the evidence before Goodell got there? Why would he hand it over to Goodell even if Goodell gave him a free pass? It makes no sense. Say the Pats really did videotape the Rams' walkthrough, why would Belichick give that to Goodell? It would just make Goodell believe he was cheating in every allegation another team made no matter how ridiculous.

The only way I can see Goodell destroying additional evidence is if Belichick really had proof of other teams cheating as was rumored by several news organizations. Belichick would freely hand that stuff over to Goodell to minimize what he did and obviously Goodell would not want it out that cheating was potentially league wide. Although I don't know if I believe those rumors, that is the only logical way I could see cover up like Jets fans think.

Personally I think people who believe in these elaborate conspiracy theories are small minded people who are so miserable in their own lives that they need to make up these evil men pulling the strings behind the scenes to make their place in life better. There are many Jets fans who fall in this category. The US Government weren't behind 911. Oswald acted alone. There are no aliens in Area 51. And Goodell is not running this league to benefit the Patriots.

heh...."personal attacks"...they're just a little angry after learning of YOUR impersonal attacks on Bob Kraft, his deceased wife and QB Tom Brady. After reading it, I felt "now there is some INTERGALACTIC bitterness right there....WOW.."...but as you just printed, you have no bitterness towards the Pats. I'm sure the entire board will ashamed of themselves that they ever doubted your sincerity.

Now...to get back to that pesky simple question for the 1000th time....right here ,right now, who is the better QB, Brady or Sanchez? Just pick one....what could be easier than that?

You of all people know better not to go there, consider the crap that gets spewed daily on the WX board, don't be a shallow weasel.

I've answered you twice, why do you keep posting the question?

Are you really that insecure and obsessed?

ROFLMAO, of course you do...

Yes, because I am a rational, intelligent member of society. Conspiracy theories are for the lunatic fringe like Alex Jones, Charlie Sheen, and Rosie O'Donnell.

Whatever you need to tell yourself that makes you feel better.

All I know is that no other team paid the price the Pats did for their actions.

Even if Belichick did hand over proof of other teams cheating, no way would Goodell act on it. he wanted the whole thing to go away. Don Banks wrote an article two months before Spygate saying that videotaping sidelines was a common form of cheating in the NFL. From his column on July 25, 2007 (nerly two months before Spygate):

The "stealing'' of signs -- both on offense and defense -- is the area that's most often cited as fertile ground for cheating. The most common practice is for a team to videotape an opponent's signal-givers on the sideline, and later marry up those indications to the game tape in order to identify tendencies or patterns.

Though no disciplinary action by the league ever resulted, the Patriots last year were reportedly the impetus of a sternly written letter from the league office to all teams, reminding them that it was illegal for an advance scout or personnel official to bring a video recording device of any kind into the press box for the purposes of taping a potential opponent's signals or play-calling gestures from the sideline.

Teams have also been chastised for having a second camera in the press box-area video box, with one camera shooting the game action and the other one being trained on the opposing team's signal-givers. On offense, that's why coaches have taken to holding their play-calling charts in front of their mouths when they're sending in the play to the quarterback via the radio headset system.

On defense, teams have gone to having two different signal callers, with one being a dummy signaler and other being responsible for the "hot,'' or real, call. Other teams use different color wrist bands during a game, with the defensive captain switching to a different color before each series, and the defensive signal-caller calling formations and blitzes from a list that corresponds with that color.

"That type of sign-stealing goes on a ton in the league,'' said one NFL source who was both a former coach and player in the league. "From a coaching standpoint, you know who's signaling in the personnel on the opposing sideline, and then there's another guy making the play calls on the headset. Defenses used to watch the play-caller, and if a guy spoke for a real long time, that was usually a pass, because the calls take longer. A run is always a shorter call. So coaches shield their mouths when they're calling plays now. If you make your calls out in the open, the other team will steal your signals and your tendencies.''

So are you going to tell me that Goodell had this article planted on the web after the fact?

Whatever you need to tell yourself that makes you feel better.

All I know is that no other team paid the price the Pats did for their actions.

They got off with no punishment but Roger favors NE lmao

Q: Did you ever steal signals?

JJ: Oh in a heartbeat, yeah. Yes I did.

Q: Via video, Jimmy? Or no?

JJ: Oh yeah, I did it with video and so did a lot of other teams in the league. Just to make sure that you could study it and take your time, because you’re going to play the other team the second time around. But a lot of coaches did it, this was commonplace.

Q: But did you do it by taping the signal caller?

JJ: Yeah.

Q: Oh you did.

JJ: That’s what I’m saying. I was saying one of Marty Schottenheimer’s scouts, Mark Hatley, who has passed away now, Mark told me that’s how they did it, and Howard Mudd their offensive line coach with Kansas City, who now coaches for Tony Dungy, he was the best in the entire league at stealing signals.

Q: Where’d you put your guy who was videotaping? Where was he?

JJ: My guy was up with my camera crew in the press box. So you’d just put an extra camera up with your camera crew in the press box who zoomed in on the signal callers. That’s the best way to do it, but anyway you can’t always do that because the press box camera crew might be on the same side as the opposing team. If they’re on the same side as the opposing team that’s when you need to do it from the sideline.

OF COURSE he did something wrong! And, he and the team paid a ridiculously outrageous penalty for it. But, was it "cheating"??? NOT according to the commissioner. Beyond that, all we have from you is spin, conjecture, and a grand leap of "logic."

OK, then we can surmise your allegedly miscast "bitterness" actually is envy. Fair enough. But keep in mind that whenever BB and Brady leave, the Pats ownership will be the same. That's one gigantic card this team will always have over Woody "Show Me The Money" Johnson. Jonathan Kraft is brilliant and just coming into his own at the controls. Your wait might last years longer than you expect (pray that Medicare is still around once you're eligible).

I really don't give a **** what Don Banks or any other writer says, and I can go out and find articles that speaks harsher words than I'm posting in this thread.

If it was all just a big misunderstanding and no big deal, then why the heavy fine and loss of draft picks?

Save it, you're not going to spin anything over on me, and I'm not here to discuss the topic that has been beaten to death, but it is pretty funny how defensive Pat fans still are about it.

Not even going to bother with arguing with any Patriot fan here, most of you are still in denial about the entire scandal.

The fact is the Patriots were busted, and they paid a heavy price for doing what they did and due to the evidence found against them. I still to this day find it hilarious how fast the league covered it up and "destroyed" the evidence, I'll never be convinced that there wasn't more to what happened and Goodell did everything in his power to conceal it and put an end to it. No matter how much you'd rather think otherwise, the entire scandal taints what the Patriots accomplished in the early 00's.

It also taints Belichick as a coach, though admittedly, not all that much, you'd have to be an ignorant moron not to acknowledge the man lives for the game, and is pretty damn good at what he does, despite his ego and arrogance.

I don't want you to argue. I want you to provide the link to the, in your words, "absolute fact".

Again your options are 1. Provide the link of the records that say the championships are "tarnish", or 2. take it back. or, 3. move on.

If it's "an absolute fact" then you shouldn't have any trouble post a link to the records.

Hint: Your opinion is not fact.

Brady is 35 years old, years longer? I think not... The window is closing.

The spin about how Kraft owning the team means more than Belichick coaching it, and Brady being its QB was pretty funny though... LOL!!!

You set an example for all the offenders. Which included your former coach Mangini.

LOL Yeah you will get that when the Jets win a SB...never

I never said it was a big misunderstanding. The Pats cheated. I have maintained everyone did it and Belichick's biggest crime was of arrogance. Goodell knew plenty of teams videotaped the sidelines. He sent out a memo telling everyone to cut it out. Belichick ignored the memo. He got slapped with a big penalty for it.

I have provided proof that it was a common practice from an article written before Spygate. It isn't spin. The Pats cheated and they disregarded a direct order from Goodell and that is why he came down so harshly.

And the Jets have done it as well.
