Terry McCormick: Patriots made contact with the Titans concerning Pacman Jones

i would say no higher than a 4th and pay him crap.

but i have no say.

But if i did, that's what i would say.

I have to think that the Titans are asking for quite a bit in return, otherwise he'd already have gone to Dallas. I can see the Pats trading a low round pick only because I think they'd be confident that he'd behave with a Kraft security dispatch trailing him all around Boston. But I doubt the Titans would accept it.

personaly, I would love to hear news of a solid Def. player signed to the patriots, I dont even care about their past.

I say sign him to a one year deal with a ton of safety net provisions for the Pats. Then, when he behaves himself, we get our draft pick back for helping clean up the image of the NFL.

Bring him in, I will personally drive him to Foxboro.

I'll take him. Add a rookie LB and this defense is young and loaded.

i dont like the guy....but football is football, and i would give up a 4rth at most...

and pay him VERY cheaply...like "cutting him at anytime wont be a concern" cheap

and then only for 1 year...and see how he acts...if he does anything QUITE bad, let him go, Goodell will suspend him

if he stays moderately good, keep him, go into the season with yet another very good defense, and try to get this SB title

I think the longer it takes the Cowboys to sign Pac the greater the chance it gives the Pats...

I think we are all getting WAY ahead of ourselves here. The article said there have been no negotiations.

Does anyone else here with half a brain understand that Pacman has not even been reinstated back in the NFL and we are talking already about signing him?

First things first, Keep the finger off the trigger till you actually see something to shoot

Agreed. Many people seem to think it is a given that Pacman will be allowed to play this coming season. From reports I've read, it seems far more likely that Goodell will not reinstate him. I think a powerful owner like Jerry Jones or Robert Kraft would have an advantage in pulling strings to get him back, but Goodell has shown that he's going to do it his way. Even with my "football players aren't saints" policy, Jones' behavior can be a detriment to the team on the field. I'd rather not lose my top defensive back midseason because he did something stupid. The guy's a moron. Leave it at that.

Totally. I recall that idiotic "interview" he did with Deion Sanders. Even with Sanders acting as his enabler, he was clueless. I'd hate to see that guy in a Patriots uniform.

The guy has all of the skills naturally. He's fast, able to jump routes, and a good kick returner. The thing he doesn't have is the ability to not make a stupid decision. This guy is as dumb as a rock. Let the Cowboys have him.

He has laid pretty low, has he done anything to cause him not getting reinstated?

No, they'd have Gostkowski appointed as his babysitter to keep him out of trouble (a Ghost is, after all, the natural enemy of a Pacman ).

This is the funniest post I have read on this board...Ever.

So if a guy is driving a car in which the passenger just murdered someone and he goes to jail as an accomplice does that mean he gets out a year later because he has been a good boy? - No

That's fine, but this is about the NFL. If he wasn't going to bring Pacman back this year, why would he suspend him for just one year? He hasn't been in big trouble since,?I bet he comes back.

As far as my opinion goes,I think the NFLPA should take a vote as to whether Jones should be allowed back in or maybe even the owner's voting or as a longshot possibility let the fans vote in a poll on the NFL.com website for reinstatement.

I think Pacman is too much of a controversial figure and maybe the most controversial player in NFL history to just let the Commisioner have a say at it.
