Teddy Bridgewater to the Broncos .... clearing the path for a NE QB?

No. It means Carolina is in the QB market for sure. Which means we probably need to get up to 4 to have a shot at getting any worthwhile first round QB’s

They traded for Darnold already. They will get him a weapon or a lineman, since those are the needs and also best available at their pick spot.

It probably eliminates Denver from taking a QB, meaning we could trade up to #10, Dallas, and get QB#4 or QB#5.

Darnold need not be a permanent commitment. He will start for a year.

If we traded for Darnold would you go into the season with him as the plan if you could also draft a QB. Darnold is a failure you are hoping you can repair

Denver is still in the mix. Teddy is a backup for a 6th rounder, not a starter.

Carolina has Darnold. I don't think they take a QB.

Schefter doesn’t think it takes Denver out of the running for a QB.

Then there’s also this:

“The Broncos traded for Teddy Bridgewater but not before altering his contract.

The restructure of Bridgewater’s deal eliminates the final year and $21 million of his contract in 2022, Mike Klis of 9News reports. The Panthers and Broncos also will split in some way the $10 million base guarantee for this season.”

That makes Bridgewater a free agent in 2022. That would leave Lock in the final year of his rookie contract and whoever the Broncos might get at QB this year.

Yup. All this says is that Denver and Carolina are in flux at QB and are trying to create movement at the position to find something that works

lol with darnold, them trading for a qb is not a certainty

No I think this takes Denver out of the QB market in the 1st.. not sure about Carolina but I think they have greater needs. Also there are rumors they move down, possibly trading with Pats.

Darnold is not a viable starter. Carolina is picking 8th. Right now with no trades, they are in line to get the 4th QB off the board. They also are high enough where they can trade the least to get Atlanta’s pick if they feel pressure.

I don't see Carolina trading up to 4 for a qb...if one of the top 5 falls to them that they really like, they might possibly take him, but I think they are vested in Darnold for the moment.
