So Michael Sam Is Gay, Who Cares? Can He Rush The QB?

What the liberal fascist thought police are going to have to understand is that not everyone, and not every culture, is compatible with this:
ny3.jpg

Fictional characters like Ned Stark, Darth Vader, Elrond aren't compatible with this.

I'm not sure what's more ridiculous - that you cited a fictional, quasi-medieval character from a dragon-and-magic based society to back your point, or that you picked someone from ASOIAF. Seems odd, considering that Loras Tyrell and Renly Baratheon are two of the most badass fighters/commanders in the Seven Kingdoms, and they're both gay as ****.

Historical figures like George Washington or Leonidas aren't compatible with this.

And real people, millions upon millions upon millions of us (the majority of the world) aren't compatible with this.

You can pretend that "gay" is a meaningless word that only means "victimized," but it isn't. That's just what you want to be the case because it suits your agenda. Give some definition to the word "gay," like photos of gay pride parades do, and it's revealed that it is something more, something most sane and dignified and honorable people would take issue with when it's rubbed in our faces.

Go ahead, call me a homophobe, then ask me how many ****'s I give.

Uhh... you might want to do some research into Spartan customs of that time period. Just saying.

Ouch.

Father of Michael Sam struggling with news son is gay - ESPN

Sam's father took the news hard. He said he was eating at a Denny's restaurant but had to leave after receiving the text.

"I couldn't eat no more, so I went to Applebee's to have drinks," Sam Sr. told the newspaper. "I don't want my grandkids raised in that kind of environment."

Sam Sr., who described himself as "old-school," told the newspaper the idea of a gay player in the NFL bothers him, even when that person could be his own son.

Nice father.

You must be watching a different Game of Thrones than the rest of us. Renly Baratheon is badass? When did he ever fight, or lead others into combat? He spent all of Season 1 whining about how he should be king.... I suppose he was planning to lead men into combat in Season 2 but then that shadow thing that that woman gave birth to pretty much put an end to that.

Perhaps the book is significantly different from the TV show? I confess I never read the books so my knowledge is limited to the HBO series.

That's exactly it. The show faithfully represents a lot of the characters. Some even end up being cooler in the show than in the books (Tywin, Jorah, and Tyrion come to mind).

Others get seriously shafted. Believe it or not, Renly, Stannis, and Jon Snow are all awesome in the books. It especially bugs me with Jon and Stannis, since they're two of my favorite characters in the books, but I totally understand why show watchers can't stand them. In the books, Renly is basically a carbon copy of Rebellion-Era Robert; a huge, imposing, uber-masculine fighter and super-charismatic leader. That's why he's able to get pretty much half of the kingdom to back his claim for the throne even though his claim is clearly illegitimate. If events are allowed to run their course without certain interferences (trying to avoid too many spoilers here), it's pretty much without question that Renly ends up on the Iron Throne with Robb Stark helping his cause and ultimately accepting his rule.

In the show, unfortunately, the creative decision appears to have been made to turn both Renly and Stannis into caricatures of their characters' worst qualities, while completely ignoring the qualities that make them both pretty awesome in the books.

I wonder how much of this "gay rights" hysteria is being driven by trial lawyers wanting to engineer the next wave of "discrimination" law suits with the ignorant sheeple coming along for the ride with a shiny new cause to get offended over at dinner parties.

just to be clear, you feel you deserve more rights than a gay man?

I like how the homosexual lobby likes to bring up ancient Greece.

I'm sorry to inform you, but if someone marched around ancient Sparta with a "Drill ass not gas" sign, like the people in the background of that photo, while wearing rainbow speedo's in front of children and in broad day light, they would have their heads chopped off faster than you can blink.

As far as Westeros is concerned, a lot of the depravity is meant to highlight what happens to people when they have no limits and to draw contrasts between different types of people. You have your Ned Starks, and you have your decadent low lives that over indulge the senses to the point of reaching outright depravity. Guess who your favorite characters are?

Do you think the above is acceptable public behavior?

Planning on bringing your family to one of these little events?

I would come down hard on anyone who conducted themselves like a degenerate low life like the above. It just so happens, homosexuals have a tendency for it and for outrageous behavior, and don't try arguing otherwise, because I've been to Province Town in summer and it's a circus of degenerates.

Don't act like this is respectable or worthy of respect or demanding of my political support.

They belong in prison and mental institutions, just like a straight man or woman that would conduct themselves similarly in public before the eyes of children.

Sort of ruins the "two consenting adults in the bedroom" pity party doesn't it?

Doesn't he have the right to handle that situation however he chooses?
Are you telling me he should consider your feelings about making an announcement and should be required to justify to you why he did? Really?
What does his fathers birthday have to do with it?
I bet his father is proud of him, and considered this announcement a reason to be more proud of his son. It would appear you think his father should be embarrassed for the world to know he has a homo kid.

You are so wrong it's hilarious.

I'll take up that debate. Define natural.

That's the starting point, since by the closest thing that there is to a generally accepted definition-- that things that exist in nature are natural--homosexuality is totally natural.

My position is that any definition of natural that excludes homosexuality also exclude a bunch of things that are near-universally acknowledged to be natural.

You forgot the other part of the definition that would seem to contradict your point:

of or in agreement with the character or makeup of, or circumstances surrounding, someone or something.

The makeup of a man is to be attracted to a woman. Never mind the shape of the genitalia, as lurker already pointed that out. But for purely procreation purposes. Men can only naturally procreate with women. Men cannot procreate with other men and women cannot procreate with other women. Homosexuality is more of an exception than it is natural. And please don't think I condemn that lifestyle. I don't. Being gay is not a choice and, again, it should not hold Sam back from pursuing his career. But it's not natural.

Every time I go to a Patriots game I see hundreds of presumably straight people getting drunk out of their minds, fights, people swearing at anyone near them, including children, etc.

I can go to some of the more raucous Mardi Gras parades and see numerous presumably straight women flashing their racks (often after getting drunk out of their minds).

I tell you what, let's lock all the straight people away -- look what they're capable of! Who the hell would want to expose children to drunks and perverts like that? Or even be anywhere near people with a sexual orientation that could permit them to act like that.

Wow. It must be difficult for you to share the planet with so many people that you are so much better than.

It's really a shame that those ******s in Provincetown don't realize that the pain and suffering they cause you by holding hands, or God forbid kissing in public.

Its just a shame everybody cannot be like you or at least that they don't pass a law putting all those homos in prison or on an island of their own where real people don't have to see their disgusting gay stuff.

LOL.

Nice spin. Could you be anymore disengenous about what happens up there during the summer months or have you just never been?

"Holding hands and maybe a kiss."

Honestly, the first problem with all of your arguments and political positions is how utterly full of crap you are.

seems to me if you drill ass you most certainly will run across gas...that's a kill two birds with one stone sign...promotes gay rights while protecting the environment..it's forward thinking like this that makes me very hopeful for future generations...

You are a bigot, what more needs to be said?

They're respectable people, guys. Men wearing women's clothing in public and acting like complete freaks isn't because they're mentally deranged or suffering from some deep rooted psychological problem.

It's because they're progressive and modern.

You're just not tolerant enough to see it.

Thankfully, you'll all be dead soon... bigots!

You are a bigot, what more needs to be said?

Sorry I don't sound trumpets to celebrate your lifestyle, bro.
You're just going to have to get over it.

So... can he rush the QB?
That is a fantastic question, Sciz. I am not sold on his ability to contribute immediately as a pass rusher. He has some talent, but I think he's a year away from being a pass rush specialist and multiple years from being any kind of regular contributor.
