So apparently in the early dynsaty years BB considered Seymour their best player

Big Sey 93 was a BEAST and a HUGE reason the Pats won those first 3 rings. Never single teamed on the line....ever.

Remember being at Dec. 2003 game after his Uncle who raised him died and he missed Friday Practice.. as a consequence the then very rigid BB did not start him against Jacksonville in a home game, however in the second quarter he came on the field and completely tore apart the Jacksonville offense and Byron Leftwich.. he spent the whole 2nd quarter in the backfield of the Jags.. Seymour took complete control of that game.

That was when I realized the mantra about no one player is bigger than the team was real..

He was that good, but on this board he was oft criticized by Patsfans as he did not show up in the "Boxscore".. however when BB would give his presser he would be asked about Seymour and he would often tell the press what a great game he played.. not sure many understood his role.

And Welker plus a stable of good receivers like Gafney and Stallworth.
That’s why 2008 bothers me so much - We lost a full Prime year of GOAT TB12 and Moss.

And people talk about Matt Cassel having such a good year. That 2008 team was stacked. Faulk was also playing really well at that point. I think if Brady had been healthy, that team might have won it all.

If I remember correctly that 2008 Patriots had one of the best preseason vegas odds of all time. Loaded roster.

I remember that being a tough game to watch. While the Pats won it eventually, the Chiefs exposed their complete lack of defense against the run game and sent the Pats on the worst losing streak of the Brady Belichik era.

I also remember BB stating on a couple occasions that Vinny was the best player on the 01 team.

And i totally agree...he was great...nice to see him at Patriots Rally Parade in Atl

Grande Richard...
