The media has been quite critical of the Pats fan noise in the new stadium.
The fact it is open at both ends does not help, but the red seats are usually
half empty if the temp drop below 40.

I actually think they should change the color of the red seats to pink.
Those fans are the pink hats of Foxboro.

The thing I miss most about the old stadium is all fans were treated equal.
The fans that were there longer had a better chance in the lottery of
getting superbowl tickets, but you felt you had a chance.

In the new stadium all of the club seats get superbowl tickets and the
remaining dozen or so (after the vendors and Krafts drinking buddies) go
into a lottery in which you have a better chance at hitting the daily number
than getting superbowl tickets.

don't worry.....after a few losing seasons, the real fans will get their place back

Ummmmmmmm, yes. I feel confident saying this because I have tickets there and its appalling.

During the 2006 season, I was at a game against the Dolphins I think, and on the opening drive of the game the Pats drove the ball down inside the 10. Like a normal person I was on my feet cheering when some dumb girl behind me repeatedly told me to sit down because she couldn't see. I told her to "shut the **** up and be a fan" and then she dropped her wine. True story.

It's obvious that you have a good complaint here, but it's almost like a catch 22 situation because it was basically Kraft and his red seat buddies who kept this team in New England.

Although they aren't representive of the more die hard fan that we want making noise all game etc, we really wouldn't even have any team at all--unless you wanted to fly to St.Louis 8x during the fall/winter.

It's a problem, but knowing the benefits makes it hard to complain.

They would have relocated to Hartford, right?

And if the opportunity presented itself where you're sitting there in one of those "pink seats" and having lunch...for free? you cetainly would sniff at that right?

The last straw for me will be when I hear them singing "Sweet Caroline" halfway through the 4th quarter.

Oh but wait.....that would hurt their vocal chords.

We haven't had this thread in a few weeks. Get rid of the red seats and those who sit in them. It is a staple along with Matt Light must go, player X was cut we should sign him, is it time to move on from Kevin Faulk, and the everyone but the Pats sux threads.

The thread always ignores that doing that means you also get rid of Tom Brady, Vince Wilfork, etc because Kraft wouldn't be able to pay them without corporate ticket $. Of course, Gillette will need to go too since Kraft needs their $ to pay for that too.

Pro sports requires corporate $. The teams that don't have it are the one's being talked about as potentially moving.

I guess the OP have never sat in the red section. I was their last year for the Jets game and found the fans just a passionate as in the other seats. They were loud and followed the game.

Perhaps the OP longs for the days of the bleachers in Sullivan stadium and the black outs due to lousy teams. They need the red seats as revenue to help pay for the salaries of the coaches and players. I would have never paid the cost of the seat I had out of my own pocket.

So instead dissing the the companies and people who do pay for them, we should be grateful that they do.

Perhaps the you are confusing the sticks and mitts crowd to those who go to the football games at Foxboro.

The irony of this thread is epic.

Better idea: Anyone who bailed on the team and offered up his/her seats for the rest of the season when Brady got hurt in the first game of 2008 should have his/her seat painted pink.

Right, Joe?

LOL.....

If anyone is going to call em out... it shouldn't be Shemessy.
We are talking about a guy who lives out of state and goes to 1 game
a year if the weather is nice.... He wouldn't want to get cold....

He would be perfect for the Bob Kraft Country club pink seats..... Stay inside if the temp is below 40

I have been there since 1979 & yes I did list about half of my games
on ticket exchange in 2008. I have good seats and they did not sell
and there were thousands of other seats available.

I had half my tickets on ticket exchange because of the Brady injury.
I was also upset about the increase in ticket prices and I was hurting for
money that year.. I am in far better shape now "money wise" than I was
in 2008.

I have lasted through the Ron Earhardt, Rod Rust & **** McPhearson
years & kept my tickets. I also survived the LA Beer years.

It is no secret, I am no fan of Bob Kraft or hs country club pink seat crowd.
I would have gone to Hartford, so I don't owe Kraft a thing for keeping the team in Foxboro.

Since the ticket prices went through the roof, I now
sell 4 games a year. I sell 2 games packages to
two differenct coworkers. They get a preseason
game and a regular season game at ticket price..

I do not think a preseason game is worth paying $234
before parking..... I am glad to dump the preseason
games.

If they don't want them... maybe you would be interested
in the preseason tickets.... the weather is warm in August.

Nice to see you are alive and well Shemessy...
Hope you can make it to a game this year.
I will keep an eye on the weather report.....

Though I live far away, I never gave up on my team like some did.

That was quite an ironic thread, Joe, for someone who is now judging others!

Did you have tickets when you lived in the area?
If you did, why did you give them up?

There were plenty of seats avaiable in the 80's and early 90's.
Why didn't you support your team when they needed you?

You never gave up on your team?
Truth is.... You never supported the Patriots.

It was lack of support from fans like you who
almost got the team moved to StLouis in the early 90's

Well which one do you believe was going to happen then? Either you believe Kraft saved the team from moving to St.Louis, which we can thank him and his corporate red seats for--or you believe they were simply going to move to Hartford.

We owe Kraft thanks for keeping the team in New England.
Noody wanted to see them go to St Louis.

Now Foxboro vs Hartford

I would have traveled to Hartford to see the Pats play.
Kraft would not have owned the Hartford stadium and the club seat owners may have had to stay outside in the cold.

I am sure the trip to Harford would have gotten old quick, but I was
actually looking forward to the roadtrip.

I hate the open ends of the Gilette stadium. I often wonder what that
stadium in Harford would have looked like.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the point you're making, and I agree that the lack of enthusiasm/noise at times is a drawback. Like I said before, it's almost like a catch 22 because the corporate funding helped keep the team there, along with the building of the new stadium.

For me, it's hard to complain about this, more specifically because I couldn't really figure out any different alternative, besides having maybe designed the actual stadium a bit different. It's kind of like a lot of things, there are some positives like keeping the team there, not having a tax increase (IIRC) like there is here for the stadium in Pittsburgh, and funding a winning product. But one of the bigger drawbacks is that you often find corporate types and their wives sipping wine and viewing it as more of a social event, rather than the more die-hard old school fans like yourself--with a better interest, understanding of the game, and a more vocal opinion.

I'm all for voicing one's opinion, so I am not meaning to undermine your point, or the thread in general.
