does cable usually go out if power is out?.....I have a generator I can fire up, but won't do any good if cable is out. I'm in RI with cox.

If your power goes out, your cable is sure to follow. I live in Charlestown near the beach road. I have a generator to backup but I have Cox Cable and they always go the way NatGrid does down here. Radio, my friend..or laptop.

I think avoiding a big storm is in most folks' best interest. A four- or five-inch snowfall should be enough to keep your kids occupied.

That is true, I am just a weather geek and want to see what could happen. This storm, I am more worried about wind, flooding, and beach erosion.

Montgomery County already canceled schools for tomorrow and snow won't even start until mid afternoon. The wimps. Our kids already have Monday off (teacher seminar day) so we are on a 4 day weekend now. Good thing I work from home.

Oh I love Capitol Weather Gang! Yes, they are the absolute best! My intention is to be done by 1:30 at the latest. Then it's a 30 minute drive from my gym. I hope I'm not cutting it too close! Of course I will follow along while I'm there and if anything changes, I'll leave earlier. It's just knowing I'm going to be stuck for God knows how long, I hate to lose the gains I've built up. Climbing muscles can't take too long of a break!
