why ?? I think Ben Johnson will be a really good coach for years to come. This is his first year and he has his team going to the division round. A lot of folks over here wanted the PATS to hire him last year . Right now he and Vrabel are neck to neck, we shall see what happens over the next few years. Just because we didn't hire him, no need to throw shade at him. He is innovative and has been the main reason that Caleb has improved so much.
He went for it on 4 and 4 from his OWN 30 when he was down only 14-3. First quarter or early second. That smacked of utter panic.

What?????? Is this based on just the games today or in general?

McVay should never be fired. Johnson is a first year HC doing spectacular things. Canales had his team playing hard as huge underdogs. LaFleur should be gone based on his body of work the past few years.
All four were awful today.

He's the champion of going for it on fourth down in a panic, that's for sure.

Lots of bad secondary play today. Makes the game kinda silly to watch. Doesn't inherently mean it's bad to watch, but it doesn't help.

He looks like a stud... 2 years 10.5 million . Need to sign such contracts and not overpay for players like Carlton davis .
We had him here for before a few seasons ago.. he's developed into an absolute Stud.. on Davis we were bound to overpay a player coming off back to back 4 win seasons Davis brought the right lottery ticket at the right time. I've been underwhelmed all season.. for a player making 20m no INTs no fumble recoveries.. I can probably count maybe 5 plays he's made of note this season.

That's the NFL these days, the rules all skewed towards the offense, and you have some brilliant Coordinators.
PFF has the Rams as the #1 overall defense, and they gave up 31 to Bryce Young.
If you build a great offense, it doesn't matter the other teams defense, you will likely score in the 30's on anyone.
Eagles scored, 28, 55 and 40 in playoffs last year. This included the Chiefs, who were ranked #2 behind Eagles on defense.
This is why I don't get too upset when the Pats defense have trouble stopping a great QB with playmakers, no team can consistently stop a great offense.

Gotta admit Bryce Young finally looks serviceable yesterday: I wouldn't break the bank for him; but he has some real nice pieces @ RB and WR. What a Gem they found in Jalen Coker to pair with Tet McMillan.

The Bears make 2nd half adjustments that work. Johnson designed the Bears offense around TEs and running the ball.

No way I fire Johnson.

I think the Bears have a huge advantage with Johnson because he is HC/OC and there is no worry of him leaving.
Johnson just broke a Packers/Bears record that has stood for 76 years.

I believe he has done a fantastic job with Williams and I'm not a fan of USC QBs.

Wow, I don’t even know how to reply to this one. You must REALLY hate Williams. If not, I have to question your football knowledge. Did you realize that Williams threw for 20 TD passes and only 6 INTs as a rookie. Yes Chicago was 5-12 last year, but much of that wasn’t really Williams fault.

Russell, though seen as legendarily bad by most, in 25 starts, had 18 TD passes and 23 INTs. When people talk about him, I thought his career stats were WAY worse. His last year, he was really bad though. 3 TD passes and 11 INTs. Russell couldn’t hold Williams’ jock when it comes to being an NFL QB.
Like i said, hyperbole. What got me about Williams was just how long he held onto the ball and took unnecessary sacks, and how generally inaccurate he was a lot of the time. I thought he was going to wash out quickly because of that. Of course not JaMarcus, but end result would be similar.

But to your broader point, you’re absolutely 100% right that I have no idea what i’m talking about! That’s why i’m here, to try to learn and have fun!

Let’s hope tomorrow is a better showing.
The NFL still got a lot of drama Saturday with both winners overcoming defeat.

That GB-CHI game went exactly how I wanted it to go…thriller ending.

Great game
Horrific football

Bad defense in general owing to rules changes/officiating favoring the passing game. Owners want the NBA in cleats and that's what we are getting, with games -- now, playoffs -- being decided on last possession. NFL football is suffering from imbalance.

I wouldn’t say the bears are dangerous, I would say the packers suck.

Well interesting start to the post season and is a reason why i never take 'tomato can' predictions or 'clearly should win' pronouncements as seriously as some.

One of the biggest underdogs in playoff history almost stole it from the Rams. And the 1.5 to 2.0 point spread getting away favorite packers blow their game too.

Underdogs should never be underestimated. I imagine today we are going to have a few games actually be convincing wins. Hope it is ours. I predicted 2 upsets cause that is pretty standard i think within 6 playoff games. One is already out of the way. I think the other will be the 49ers knocking off the eagles.

My gosh though.... how do the Rams or Bears feel good about themselves going into next week at this point there... if i were fans of those teams i'd be happy to advance and mentioning any win is a good win... but i wouldn't feel good about it.

Don't believe in the Bears. They can upset someone next week too.... But they are not winning it all. No way. If I am wrong i will go to the bears boards/forums and apologize for being a non-believer every month until the next season starts.

I wouldn’t mind them getting two more upsets……. An opportunity to Revenge the 85-86 SB ?

A 46-10 beat down would be nice / if we can get there from here.
