Remaining Free Agency LT Options ... we still need to draft a guy

Unless carter or hunter are there... its possible that one or the other might be available if the two qbs go within the first three picks... and less likely, but possible if one of the two qbs, most likely sanders, is there... then you might see a team try to move up... I don't think the jete are going to be doing that... just have a gut feeling they have entered tank mode already and are looking to get a shot at arch manning in next years draft

teams that need QBs include TEN, NYG, CLE, NYJ, LVR, IND, PIT... all it will take is one team willing to jump the line... Sanders is intriguing because it looks like he is being set up for a fall in the draft... If Papa Deion can help exercise those demons on his pro-day, we might be sitting in a pretty sweet spot... but i do realize that those are a lot of ifs and maybe's...

I would take Indy and LV off that list. I don’t believe in Richardson but they aren’t giving up on him yet. Petey likes Geno, I don’t see them taking Sanders, I believe it will be Jeanty at 6. And now that I think of it I would take the Jets off the list as well, worst case scenario/ best case scenario for them is that Fields bombs and they get a shot at Arch Manning.

That leaves Tenn, Cleveland, NYG, and Pitt. I don’t see Pitt giving away multiple 1st round picks and then some to go up into the top 4 for Sanders, I think it’s more likely they stay put and take Jaxon Dart. Tennessee I believe will take Ward, unless the Giants overpay to move up for him. Cleveland I believe will take Hunter, and the Giants will take Sanders. This will leave Carter on the board for the Patriots, and I believe they could be convinced to trade down if a team is in love with Carter. The Patriots could move down a few spots, still get their tackle, and get the extra 2nd they can use to move back into the first round to get that WR.

Is your argument that teams won’t give much to trade up for Carter?
just the opposite. teams will trade up for him. He's probably the biggest return for the 4 pot

Is your argument that teams won’t give much to trade up for Carter?

Depends on your definition of “ much.” I think teams would be willing to give up a 2nd to move to 4 for Carter. but I don’t think anyone is giving up a first for him. He’s not as good a prospect as Parsons was and he went at 8.

The Pats aren’t going to solve their LT problem via FA. Any LT that’s in FA is there because 1) he isn’t very good (JAG level) or 2) there are issues not related to on field performance. Basically you’re getting V Lowe or someone who’s oft injured and/or a malcontent.

Concerning WRs…the Pats aren’t getting anything more than a WR3 at this point in FA unless there’s a trade.

So what does this mean IMHO? I think they’re going to trade down a few spots with a team that wants a QB. They’ll pick up a couple extra draft picks in that deal. At that spot, they’ll draft the best LT/WR available and then I see the Pats moving back up into the bottom half of the 1st rd (using the draft capital just acquired) to draft the LT or WR not chosen with the 1st pick.

Of course all bets are off if Carter somehow falls to #4.

Pit has been looking for a QB since BR left. They are firmly in the QB market.

Geno Smith is a stop gap. and its not Pete who's making that call, its going to be Brady

Indy is iffy. But with AR tapping out in a game this year, if they aren't in the market for one, they should be.

I agree that Pitt has been looking for a QB for a while, but they now have two downfield receivers and that isn’t Aaron Rodgers game, nor is it Ward or Sanders game. . It is however the strength of Jaxon Dart’s game, and he will be there when Pitt
picks.

If Brady is the one making the decisions in Las Vegas then he just decided to trade for Geno Smith.

I agree that Richardson isn’t the answer in Indy, I just don’t think Indy has reached the same conclusion, and they just gave Daniel Jones 15 million to back him up.

I've read that Indy is wary of Richardson at this point, explains why they gave Jones that much $ IMO.
They should be wary, he sucks and gets hurt every year.

either that or the line is backing us up... 41 penalties by the OLine last year...
Coaching seriously looking back on it had alot to do with it. Mayo seemingly didn't even pick the coaches anyway.. he likely didn't engage much on the sidelines to correct the issues.

Pit using the 21st pick on the 4th best qb? Eh... could happen... Tomlins seat is getting warm though... They haven't won a playoff game since 2016...

They are in play to move up...

as for the Braiders, they traded for geno because they had no one else... hes proven he can play, but hes demonstrated hes not going to win you any important games...

Ever think there might be other reasons? like length of contract? salary demands? bonus size? knowing stuff like this would help round out the conversation surrounding the player.

So, based on your replies, you haven't given it a thought. My advice to you? Take your own suggestion and just "wait" it out... I don't need to deal with your snark... go take some midol or something and chill...
Those are all part of how they value the players, based on knowing them.

Problem is, there is no “knowing” stuff like that in conversations here. There’s just a bunch of noise from empty talk. Makes it harder to find any posts actually containing information, which is why I come to the board.

I've got just as much right to tell you all to quit wasting your time on it as you do to ignore me. But if you don’t want to deal with my snark that’s easily done, just don’t trigger it so often that I can’t resist venting it.

i have zero idea what triggers you. and nothing i said in this thread should have been triggering in the slightest. Thats on you. And even if it wasn't, quite frankly, i don't give a ****.

as I said, take some midol, it will help with your cramps & bloating.

I think they’re waiting on the best offer, in Willis’s case he probably thinks he deserves one of those massive left tackle contracts.

Eventually these players will realize the music is going to stop and they’ll be left without a chair and settle for the best that they can get. My concern now is the Patriots, are they still looking to improve or do anything else in free agency… or do they think they’ve spent enough.

The Pats should be in on these guys, use the draft to add pure talent by having starters already in place.
Good point. One of the consistent themes on this board is faulting the team for not signing players, without any clue that it might be the players who aren’t ready to sign.

Same thing when players like Godwin and Kupp sign elsewhere. It’s clear they were never going to sign here, there’s nothing the team could’ve done to sign them, and still some folks will blame the team. it’s tiresome.

Tyron Smith? gotta be careful with neck injuries... think back to Katzenmoyer... killed his career... have to fully vet that injury before relying on him for anything
Good point. Have to wonder if there are others who have medical reasons for caution as well.

I see what the bee in your bonnet is...

where did i blame the team for not signing anyone?

Surely I must have, seeing as how you got triggered and tried to **** all over me...

Point it out. I'll wait.

I’m not usually a fanboy of the glitzy WRs but you convinced me. Draft Hunter if he’s available at #4.
Sure. why not? It'll be fun to watch him run around beyond the line of scrimmage while Drake runs around behind it trying to avoid getting clobbered by the jailbreak. I mean, if we want to add a little excitement to our four-win team again, we might might as well add a little flash for the kids in the stands, and that will probably give us a chance to see what the backup qb's can do.

Exactly. We can give Milton a chance to show whether or not his trade value is real or just internet keyboard warrior fantasy.

Sorry, wasn’t just you. There’s a lot of blaming the team on stuff that’s not entirely within their control around here.
with Vrabel in Cleveland last year, and Doug Marrone literally drafting Cam Robinson, makes you wonder why no news has been forthcoming about these two guys
But this did seem like you were pointing fingers at the coaches.

And then you took my response to that and came at me to **** all over me in return. I’m always gonna play it the way whoever I’m engaged with does. You make good posts I’ll say so, you say something I think is wrong I’ll say so. Then we can discuss it or fight over it, as you choose. But don’t expect me to back down just because you don’t like what I said.
