Yeah, that sounds right to me.Neither Mafi nor Sow is worth losing to a team with a strong line of aging starters and weak youth/backups. They stay. Especially Mafi. The others, I think, are safer to get to PS.
The Patriots and all 31 other teams trade or acquire players at roster cutdowns.
Yeah, that sounds right to me.
I think they try to get Thanksdad to the PS and elevate him as needed. The problem, upon reconsideration, is backup center.

As a negative nancy, I will say I am shocked by this news today. I expected NFI.I don't want to say "I told you so" to the negative nancy's here but...
Who is our backup C then?Jakes Andrews just fell and stubbed his toe, and now his tummy hurts.
See you next offseason...
Russey, he's back at practice today.Who is our backup C then?
I am very happy to look silly if one of those guys pan out at tackle. I am certainly not rooting against them to succeed I am just skeptical based on their backgrounds.David Andrews is old and starting to miss games. The time to find a center isn’t when you need one, it’s prior to that. Rookies typically need development.
Again if Sow and/or Wheatley become competent players your take will look silly.
The OTs are suspect at best.I think they could slip ten linemen through the 53 today and move or more to the practice squad (or IR) in the next couple days.
This looks like a really good offensive line to me:
LT (2) – Trent Brown, Calvin Anderson,
LG (1) – Cole Strange,
C (2) – David Andrews, Kody Russey
RG (2) – Michael Onwenu, Antonio Mafi
RT (2) – Sidy Sow, Tyrone Wheatley,
You ever heard of the boy who cried wolf? The OTs are suspect at best.
