Rebooting the OL decisions

Well C Barmore benched him easily in practice I guess Russey's weight room strength doesn't translate.
If one rep determined worth there'd be nobody playing in the NFL, and Barmore is a damn good player.

Deion Sanders and John Hannah got beat on a single rep... don't be silly.

The other Andrews C'mon Wozzy.
He's behind Russey based on the depth chart we saw all preseason and based upon play we watched all preseason.

Russey's been in the league longer and has more experience.

I can't see BB carrying Three Centers on the 53 when one is a Iron man D Andrews.

Russey's been in the league a full year longer.
Well they can take a chance on him clearing waivers the spot is kinda redundant.

Like I said, depending on how he progresses the next two weeks Jake could be a Foxboro Flu candidate.

But if they want to carry 9, then Russey and Jake can both provide depth at center and guard.

David Andrews is getting up there in age,

This might all be moot. Russey got hurt against the Texans and hasn’t practiced in 2.5 weeks.

Possibly, it's possible Onwenu, Strange or Russey start the year on the injured list.

Who are the 8/9 that are kept?

Safe: Brown, Strange, D. Andrews, Onwenu

Pick Two OT's: Lowe, Wheatley, Sow, Steuber, Anderson

Pick Two/Three Interior/Multitool: Ferentz, Mafi, Russey, J. Andrews, Hines, Reiff

Who goes to PS? I'd guess two developmental players, perhaps as many as three.
Who starts as injured? And with what status?
Who gets cut outright?
Lowe, Sow, Mafi, Russey, Hines and J. Andrews goes on phantom IR.

The pats didn’t trade for two OTs to immediately put them on waivers. They’ll be here for atleast a week. It’s also been pointed out that they’ve never cut a 4th round pick during initial cutdowns:

OT Trent Brown
LG Cole Strange
C David Andrews
RG Michael Onwenu
RT Sidy Sow

OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr.
OT Vederian Lowe
OG Atonio Mafi
OC Jake Andrews

NFI: Calvin Anderson

Reiff makes it if healthy. Otherwise those are your 9 OL IMO.
I don't think they can afford to cut Hines.

I'd say Jake Andrews finds himself on phantom IR.

I can see them cutting one of the new tackles.

Any chance one of the new tackles impresses enough to start at RT over Sow in week 1?

los pats siguen comprando chatarra para conducir un mercedes... lo normal es que cuando el auto llega a velocidad de crucero... se estrelle

What a horrible value exchange.
BB trades a draft pick for a guy who is going to be cut in 1 day??
Same with Wheatley. Give up a talented speedy RB, for an OT that would likely be on the street in 2 days?
If you wanted to get these guys, why not 2 weeks ago when we knew all the available tackles were crap, or hurt?

Yes, I think that's the plan. Create some competition there, and replace the two other vets they brought in at the beginning of camp to do just that (Reiff not looking good, Anderson with NFI). They would have done the homework to make sure these guys were smart enough to pick up the calls with a couple weeks of study, to whatever extent that is possible.

1. In the handful of projections I pulled up last night, Vikings reporters unanimously had Lowe on the roster.

2. Almost as unanimously, Browns reporters said Wheatley would be either traded or claimed and be on a roster, just not in Cleveland.

3. Teams want to see how the players they have perform in their system before making a decision on them. The entire NFL had no trades between Mims on July 19 and Simmons on August 24.

plus injuries
Reiff went down Friday night. teams want to protect themselves.

They’ll know what the new guys have to offer within an hour of them hitting the field for the first time. Line them up opposite Judon and Uche for evaluation and let them show their stuff.
In other words do either of these two new prospects have quick feet OR are the just Heavy Weights???

It probably would have cost a lot more then.

Hope they can keep em out of Canton in one Practice skip the voting process.
