Every playoff game is a tough game. Period.
The "better" team isn't always, and over the course of the season, teams go up and down.
That said, in years past, I feared certain teams going into the playoffs, because even though the Pats were considered "better" in power rankings, etc, those other teams seemed to be peaking while we were licking serious wounds.
I didn't want to play the Ravens or the Broncos a couple of years ago because it was clear that we weren't the same team without Gronk and wouldn't match up well against the Ravens (and I didjn't want to go to Denver, period).
This year, the Pats are very healthy for the playoffs, and have been the best team in the AFC since the KC game. The second best team in the AFC is the Broncos, despite Manning's injuries/issues. That said, the Pats will be at home and they are built to beat the Broncos, with their great DBs.
I don't see any match-up hell for New England in the AFC. The Ravens have a good front seven (no better than the Jets, the Bills or even the Dolphins), but their overall defense isn't nearly as scary as in year's past, when you just knew that one of the legendary old players would step up and kick ass. the Ravens' offense is mediocre and shows little signs of suddenly tearing it up, as with two years ago.
The Steelers are a solid team, but their defense should not slow down the Pats in Foxboro, and again, their offense relies on a couple of skill players we can match up against.
Indy is probably the weakest team in the AFC playoffs, honestly, and now with Wayne down again. The don't match up well at all against New England, especially on a cold night in Foxboro.
Cinci is, well, Cinci. Can they win a big game when they need to? On the road?
Bottom line: you can lose to ANY playoff team, but if the Patriots play their game, they should win the two to get to the big SB. Toughest opponent would be Denver, then Pittsburgh, then Baltimore, then Cincinnati, then Indianapolis - and don't kid yourself, they could lose to ANY of those teams if they aren't playing up to par. That's why they play the games!
I'll take a shot that Pittsburgh beats Baltimore on Saturday and Cincinnati finally wins a playoff game on Sunday.
Pittsburgh gives Denver fits and avenges the Tebow game. New England handles Cinci. Then New England beats Pittsburh in a pretty good game.
