I have Lamar as a high 2nd round grade. My hack take:
- He will be the most dangerous threat running threat at the position since Kaepernick with Harbaugh
- He has 1st round arm strength & his accuracy right now is better than the stats show
- He’s inconsistent, needs to cleanup some footwork issues that could improve accuracy (The Eagles did wonders wih Wentz’ footwork compared to before the draft & 2017). He can’t start in 2018 IMO.
I think Lamar fits the profile as a high upside backup developmental QB to Brady as long as he fulfills the off field/intangibles criteria.
A sneak peak at what a Lamar Jackson Patriots offense could incorporate one day:
McDaniels attacked the #1 defense in the NFL with a QB that was nowhere near ready to play with designed QB runs. Now swap out Brissett’s 4.9 speed with Jackson’s rumored 4.3-4,4 speed & superior arm talent.
I’m in if we decide to go this route.
