That's not what I saying. I don't the Pats are letting anything leak they don't want out there. The smoke etc is from people in the media and others that recognize the fit, not the Pats.

New England doesn't need to be seen drooling of him. There just needs to be intrigue & there was already plenty of that surrounding Lamar & New England to make teams think & rent space in their head.

Again I just don't think we waste his & our time when he was the only QB we brought in to the building.

Clearly they wanted to hear from him (not his mom) that he doesn't want to play WR.

You don’t have to look further than 54,56,59 completion percentage from a guy who can run so never has to throw away or force a throw and the fact he did it against a lower level of competition. But yeah the tale backs it up

You lose a LOT of credibility when you call the ACC "a lower level of competition".

And since I don't know a lot about Jackson, what exactly has been Jackson's completion percentage the last couple of years? Is it really so bad that he can be characterized as being "abysmal"

And finally, while I'm not sure I'd be thrilled to see Jackson taken with our first pick, a lot of his so called flaws could be ameliorated by the fact he'd have at least a full 2 seasons (just like JG) to sit before he'd be required to take up the burden of being the Pats #1 QB. There is a lot of upside to Jackson, and while I doubt he'd be there at 23, it would certainly spice up the post-draft talk.

I have Lamar as a high 2nd round grade. My hack take:

• He will be the most dangerous threat running threat at the position since Kaepernick with Harbaugh
• He has 1st round arm strength & his accuracy right now is better than the stats show
• He’s inconsistent, needs to cleanup some footwork issues that could improve accuracy (The Eagles did wonders wih Wentz’ footwork compared to before the draft & 2017). He can’t start in 2018 IMO.

I think Lamar fits the profile as a high upside backup developmental QB to Brady as long as he fulfills the off field/intangibles criteria.

McDaniels attacked the #1 defense in the NFL with a QB that was nowhere near ready to play with designed QB runs. Now swap out Brissett’s 4.9 speed with Jackson’s rumored 4.3-4,4 speed & superior arm talent.

My point is his weaknesses are the areas that are most important and most difficult to improve upon.

To be fair, JG was coming off basically completing 70 percent of his passes and throwing 50 TDs his last year.

I do think that Jackson's really outstanding running ability could make up for some perceived accuracy issues. A guy like that starts scrambling around and defenses tend to break down pretty quickly. Hence BB hating to play that kind of QB.

Just now bothering adding but Jackson's stats for his last season.

He accounted for 5261 yards and 45 TDs. It's hard not to be impressed by that.

We were still shut out by Rex Ryan no less and his thumb did t keep him from running. The Houston game was also won by defense not a great offensive scheme.

Jackson will never be Brady in terms of accuracy but hes improved each year, had the highest drop rate% of any college QB this year, his OL was weak to say to least & he just turned 21. Not Only has he almost mastered Petrinos system but hes familiar w the E.P. He ran his offense, a pro style offense mind you, as well as any QB in the country. Mike & my reports.

LJ floor, Tim Tebow, Football player who can play as a non QB and excel.

Ceiling? TB12 with elite athletic skills. The stuff that needs to be 'fixed' his throwing mechanics depends on the kid's attitude. IMO he wants to be a great QB, so he will put in the work. I have seen some film analysis that shows him staying the pocket and taking a hit rather than running to make a play. Going through progressions.

I want the kid to be there at 23, I think he will develop into a GREAT HOF QB,...IF put in the right situation. The Patriots and learning by being in the room with Brady is the right situation IMO.

I don't follow college football. So I don't know any of these kids. But when someone is talking about a young QB and they mention that he has to change his throwing mechanics the alarm bells start going off in my head. That is a very, very bad sign for a QB.
