Post Game Thread - Pats vs Jags

Soft ass defense. I knew they only looked good last game because Watson was rusty. Bortles didn't even fear being ****in hit when he rushed for first downs. Out there spinnin and ****. Not one time did he think, "Oh, ****. I better slide so I won't get hurt." Where's my bone crushin hits? Where's the aggressiveness that Jaguars were giving us all game on both sides of the field?

Don't even get me started on our receivers. We already knew they were trash. No one can argue this. I'll give Patterson props for getting a first on 2nd and 16, but that's about it, and maybe that had more to do with good blocking than his speed. It was all James White and Gronk today.

Gronk had nothing going for him.

4 - 12 on 3rd down conversions = 33%

In comparison to Jax offense
10 - 14 on 3rd down conversions = 71%

Sonny Mitchell needs to step it up because 2 yards and a cloud of dust wont cut it. He had no power out there today and upon contact went down like he was in a hurricane.

10 carries for 34 yards and 15 yards were gained on 1 rush.
9 attempts @ 19 yards = 2.11 YPC.

What the hell is going on with Patterson? All these razzle dazzle handoffs and BS plays that dont fool anyone. Just read the scouting report on him and you know whats coming from Patterson. Get him out in space and throw him the ball.

Need another WR yesterday.

I am stating the obvious when it comes to these defenses even during the super bowl years. I am not calling for a super defense. Just have an average defense.

The one play that I thought really killed us today was Patterson tripping over himself. We had a wave of momentum, ready to bring it to a one score game deep in their territory.

All Patterson needs to ****ing do is not fall over himself and he gets a first down. Goddamn that was frustrating.

Those plays probably worked in practice against the NE defense. Which explains so much....

Are you really surprise that they’re struggling on 3rd down? Guys are just not getting open. These guys can’t break man coverage.

It was not a good day, and people should be venting about the performance. But the good news:

The next 3 weeks (Lions/Dolphins/Colts) should allow the team to pick up 3 wins while getting Edelman back, perhaps adding more help, and getting into sync on both offense and defense.

It was a frustrating loss & there are legit gripes. But, the team is - despite some imperfections - in the midst of a mini dynasty (champs 14, top four 15, champs 16, runner up 17) with many pieces in place to make a run this season...Today was bad, but there is no need to count them out at this point.

Idk. I wouldn’t trust this defense. They likely will bend but don’t break against those teams. The lions already 0-2 likely will be desperate. They have some playmakers.

Hope so, also a possible let down after a big win. Just unfortunately the afcs is always pretty weak aside from one team and Tennessee has looked iffy first 2 weeks. Also jax has the nfce this year which looks like crap except Philadelphia IF wentz returns to form

Do you have any concept of draft position and salary cap? Patriots have drafted in the bottom 5 for the past 18 years not counting the 2 first rounders stolen from them. They also have to be within salary cap restraints. So what do you propose they do?

At the end of preseason, I said my biggest fear was converting 3rd and 7. I was told I was nuts - did I not know who Brady is. As good as Brady is, it takes 2 to tango. Sure, the Jags are elite on defense, but the plan is simple - deny Gronk, watch White and man up everywhere else.
