Post Game Thread- Dolphins beat the Pats

All I can think is this. That game cost the pats any chance to not go to KC. And unless a big injury happens they can't beat KC at KC.
KC has a good D though and Reid is an elite coach in the playoffs. Handles pressure and manages the clock well

They were not awful today. That was a great football game.

Good ball game, but the Pats didn't have a good game today. Offense showed some good things, but too many mistakes (Brady's sack, missed kicks, the last play), plus our run D was pretty poor. Awful might have been strong....

No it doesn't.

Seasons have ebbs and flows.

Pats are out when they are out.

I can't believe anyone who watched the unbeaten Patriots lose to the Giants or the Nick Foles Eagles win a Super Bowl or the 2001 Patriots beat the Greatest Show on Turf don't understand that the playoffs are a series of one-game seasons and football is a weird sport where sometimes the best team doesn't win because of a missed extra point or field goal or because the opposing quarterback takes a sack without timeouts or because you take a DPI to save a touchdown and then score on a last second relay play that works 1 in 500 times (or all of the above).

They lossed an important game to a less talented team. They did not play up to their capabilities. For me, that's the frustration.
The weirdest thing to me is that of the four losses none were to teams that are actually good. Suggests to me that this is not a mentally tough team.

Everyone wants Gordon in for Gronk. I don't get why. Put in a safety or Melifonwu.
Ohhhhh something tells me that’s the last time we will be seeing an offensive skill position guy in that role in that situation.

Actually. It does.

This isn't entitlement. This is ME and anyone else willing to not use their homer glasses seeing with their own eyes why this team JUST DOESNT HAVE IT this year.

The Pat's are good for 11 wins every year and if you cant see that every season isn't equal than you are essentially saying you are clueless.

We just got the cherry on top on why we aren't contenders. But hey. At least we will win 12 games. Right?

Ohhhhh okay the Pats (plural, not possessive, I take it,) are "good for" 11 wins. That just happens, because New England.

The other guys get paid too, champ. It's not amazing to win 10 games 16 years in a row if you get spotted 11 wins a season. And we don't.

Miami's always tough, and any given Sunday even applies. I learned that lesson in the most vivid way when a 9-7 Gintz team won all its road games to beat the 18-0 Pats.

I get the impression that you weren't here for the lean years, and you think these are them.

Guess what? If a 9-7 Gintz team can beat an 18-0 Patriots team, an 11-5 Patriots team can beat the odds too. You're just not used to the concept of "Patriots" and "Beat the odds" in the same sentence.

Sooooo sick and tired of the doofus theory that you must have HFA throughout to make a SB run. I don't remember that happening for us in 2001-2002 and I don't remember 18-0 protecting us in 2007-2008.

So please, please go away, lest the Pats go on a run with you recently re-united with the bandwagon. Please burn all your gear, NOW. It's what you deserve.

So Ghost didn't miss a FG. Brady didn't have a brain fart at the end of the first half? The dolphins shouldn't have even had an opportunity to win at the end. Game is 60 minutes. You want to focus on the last 16 seconds is up to you.

They lost on the last play. Are you serious? Did you not just watch what happens? Are you telling me they wouldn’t have won if some ******* on defense made a stop on the last play with no time remaining?

There is no reason to think that the Patriots won't beat the Steelers.
Especially with how pissed off they’re going to come out. The defense is still trash, though. Especially on the road.

I am really trying to understand why this team has such a hard time on the road this year, I just don't get it.

Pats have won SBs with 11 wins and lost 18-0
Sure, but with the 2nd seed that year, and getting the bye is enormous, especially when every loss you’ve had has come on the road, with another possible situation next week at PIT.

Again BB best days are behind him.....horrible coaching all season...was really exposed today

That was coaching at the end there. The Gronk on defense thing is a dumb gimmick that only makes sense when they can throw the ball into the end zone and when Gronk isn't hobbled. An actual safety there probably saves the tackle. That gimmick's always been arrogance. Nearly cost them earlier in the year with that hail mary where Gordon mistimed the leap too.

Interestingly, the difference was that pass interference on Gordon. If he scores there, game over.

I personally didn’t like the idea to go for a field goal, but I can understand the logic. It doesn’t matter, though, as they were determined to lose that game somehow.

Fortunately Houston lost so we still have the inside track to the 2 seed.

That said a few concerns:
Run defense/ front 7 in general getting abused again. This is the time we should be rounding into form and that was our worst performance yet.
Ghost unreliable two weeks in a row, right up there with the defense in terms of blowing this one.
Brady another total brain fart at the end of the first half, this was worse than that weird fumble vs Kc.

Defense is the biggest worry as always. Next week will be key to see how the team rebounds, we were bound to lose one of these close ones, im hoping they got it out of their system. Still alot of football to be played.Of course none of it matters if we cant stop the run.

Getting a FG from being on your own 4 is virtually impossible in that time with no time outs. Miami needed a TD and we gave them a 30 yard head start. Plus we might have ended the game.

If that is what you are thinking you don't understand how football works. You don't care about the yardage but want to drain as much of the clock as possible and make sure you don't allow a big return.
The kick was perfectly executed and played.

Not the way they lost it chief.....Pats GAVE this game away....not doofin winning it...one of worst defenses in history of franchise and blunderous decision making by Brady and all coaches.....embarrassing

Yeah, it stinks. Miami always seems to flip the script on us. Hopefully, we can learn from the poor decision making, and make it back to the SB.

I want to punch JC Jackson in the ****ing mouth. Guy simply stopped in the finaly play

****ing garbage, You are now my arch-nemesis

Not sure how you can say that Jackson is the one who "just stopped" when he was the one falling over Gronkowski to try and get Drake down.. Hell, Jackson was there when Stills made the lateral to Parker and almost had Parker before he lateraled to Drake. And he had to watch out for being taken out by Van Noy who just missed taking Drake out.

If you are going to be PI$$ED at people, how about being pi$$d at Jmac and Gilmore who never got closer than the far hashmarks. And they are two of the quickest guys on the defense.

Or how about being upset with Chung since he was in front of Drake and let Drake get by him and then was just half-hearted in his pursuit.
