A lot to love about both of them. I’m not big into college football so would love to hear more from posters like Bacon who follow college more. From the limited amount I’ve seen:

Williams - great athlete, strong arm and accurate, maybe the best thrower on the run I’ve seen. But, he’s 6’0 and runs around a lot waiting to make the big play. That’s not gonna work very often in the NFL. Can he operate in the pocket and pick his spots to run around? Is his height an issue? Is he a leader and emotionally ready to carry a franchise?

Maye - Josh Allen meets Justin Herbert. Big guy, big arm, big plays. Can also run. The potential with Maye is huge. Upside is that within a few years he’s among the best QBs in the league. Could he be a project like Allen was when he came in? Do we have the right guy to coach him like Allen did with Dabol?

While nothing is guaranteed, you gotta swing to get a hit. Both these guys have a ton of potential and I’m good with taking the shot.

Caleb Williams all the way.

Drake Maye looks like Rick Mallet with wheels. He's over here winding up like he's Dizzy Dean and meanwhile backside pass rush strips him.

I love a quick release: Caleb Williams.

Here's another thought: trade the pick to the Chargers for Herbert.
You gotta like the Herbert comparison literally and figuratively that can't be a bad thing. Maye is not throwing to some of the best Guys either.

Maye or Jayden Daniels for me. Would not shock me at all if we look back 3 years from now and Daniels is the best QB from this draft. The guy is absolute dynamite.

The only knock I see on Jayden Daniels right now is that is his deep balls hang a little not at Mac Jones level mind you. But you see how in the NFL CBs catch up to those really fast. I think Daniels is going to theat to run Everytime like Lamar he's going to really put pressure on the Defense.

I wish Maye came from a top NFL minor league program, just to get a better look at film. I will see if I can find highlights of the NC State and Clemson games. Appalachian State and Campbell aren't exactly NFL level competition.

I have this feeling that Caleb is going to be a bust …or pretty average in NFL….he reminds me of Kyler Murray. I like Drake Maye or kid from LSU….

Why do we associate crying as a sign of weakness. Isn't it a sign of not really caring what the world thinks and showing their emotional side.

Not sure why we consider stoic demeanor and non emotional aspect as signs of success?

I am not saying williams will be successful but just the notion that if you cry you are weak ...
I think he’s crying cause his defense sucks and he wanted to win back to back Heismans.

Herbert plus a second round pick sounds sweeter

My pick is Daniel’s as well. He is just a tad reckless with his body, shows no fear. Great arm and scrambling ability. Hate the fact that he makes Kelly look like a good coach.

I like all three of them but we might only get the 3rd or 4th pick so if one of them is there grab him.

Caleb wants equity of whatever team drafts him. Unproven guy who thinks he deserves that kind of compensation. Someone who thinks like that imo is a red flag.

I haven't seen much of Maye or Daniels to really say. I just think of all the hyped QBs who have become crap the past 10 years.

Slightly off topic but something I can't stop thinking about amidst all the "BB should be fired" or "BB should be stripped of GM" and a crop of 6 or more QB prospects is: In such a class who would you rather have evaluating those QBs than BB? He's made a career out of tormenting young QBs and clearly has insight into how they think. All these QB prospects are athletic and have tons of highlight reels but to really figure out their value you need to get them in a room and let a guy like BB figure out how they think about the game.

In past years we never picked high enough to get every QB in a film room with BB because the top ones knew they weren't coming to New England. This year there isn't a consensus number one and so we have a legit shot at all of them which means they all need to visit. I can't think of anyone better than BB to figure out how they process the game in between their ears.

I personally lean towards Maye because he is a height I'm more comfortable with in an NFL QB and he is used to playing behind a muddy OL which translates well to the NFL. That said, he also has to work on his release and he's at a lower level of competition, so not sure if he's a guy I'd want to throw into the fire as a starter day 1.

Williams at least benefits from not having all-star receivers, but I do question his productivity in a bad pocket - not as much of that for him as Maye. He is at least used to playing with a bad defense and needing to try to "make it happen" with lesser receivers so that is good. I think the emotional stuff with him is slightly overblown at this point. The one thing that bugs me is he's just on the slightly shorter side at a hair under 6'1" which is Zappe's height - can lead to some issues but Williams has far more mobility and arm talent obviously.

Daniels obviously looks great and is also a good height, but he's surrounded by stars at WR and also isn't used to playing in a muddy OL so I would probably have some fears that he wouldn't be able to adapt to the NFL like we saw with Mac. That said, Burrow also comes from the same school and situation and has been great so it depends on the individual to an extent. It just would be nice to see them "go without" for some length of time to prove it.

If they elect to trade down for an LT or their selection falls, I'm interested in Penix Jr. He has a lot of red flags with medical history but he checks a lot of boxes otherwise. An interesting piece is that he's a lefty which may shake up how you approach your tackles - the LT is de-valued and the RT is emphasized since the QB's blind side is flipped. The fact that he's a lefty also may de-value him further as some OCs won't want to deal with accommodating that. Could end up being a good value selection.

Maye seems like a much more stable individual from what I’ve read. I think he’s a safer bet. I think I may even feel safer rolling the dice on Daniel’s than Williams.

Also, RLKAG.
yeah, but Sometimes those crazy ones just have that talent that others don’t. You know, like the really hot chick thats nuts.

That's not tearing up because you see the pride in your mother's eyes and it hits the feels. That's sobbing like a baby because you lost. Emotionally unstable.

Add this guy thinking he's entitled to partial ownership of the team that drafts him. Sounds like there's all kinds of wrong with this guy.
