I’m less concerned about entertainment and more about finding the next QB.I don't think Zapp would be terrible. I do like that the kid had won games and oozes confidence. I believe letting him start is just the best thing to do. I like the athletic ability Malik posses, and with more grooming and seasoning he could become a capable NFL QB. I'm just speaking solely entertainment value for Malik. But the guy has pure athletic ability.
I base my opinion on his entire body of work going back to college. He’s not a pure passer, he’s not the athlete Lamar Jackson is. Potential backup is his ceiling if he pursues a QB job.You remembering that correctly? Malik played only 1 drive. 2yd rush for Strong, 3yd sack with no one open. Safe underthrow to Pitts. On 4th and 11, he threw a perfect 25 air yard throw that would've picked up 15yds, but Scotty Washington dropped it.
In that 1st preseason game, the throw to Nixon that was dropped was excellent as well. Note that Mahomes' comp % in college was less than 1% more than Malik's.
The Commanders are one of the worst defenses in the league and Mac didn’t take advantage of that. You guys will conveniently forget that if Zappe looks good.Well said my friend, in my conversation with @Wozzy I figured I l'd say something positive about Zapp maybe that will inspire him to show he can do some better than Mac has shown this season. Your right no more excuses, it's now or never. Regardless we need a QB.
Jones is completely irrelevant as he is no longer the starting QB of this team. The Commanders are one of the worst defenses in the league and Mac didn’t take advantage of that. You guys will conveniently forget that if Zappe looks good.
He’s a project. I expect the team to abandon trying to make him a WR he has shown no sign to date that he has any potential of being one.I base my opinion on his entire body of work going back to college. He’s not a pure passer, he’s not the athlete Lamar Jackson is. Potential backup is his ceiling if he pursues a QB job.
I could also be wrong and have been before.

How about both? CJ stroud is pretty, good, his team is winning and provides some entertainment value as well for example. I want the next guy to give us both.I’m less concerned about entertainment and more about finding the next QB.
Zappe hasn’t proven he can be that, Cunningham’s college stats show he most certainly isn’t.
Mac is no longer in the mix. It's your QBs time to shine now.The Commanders are one of the worst defenses in the league and Mac didn’t take advantage of that. You guys will conveniently forget that if Zappe looks good.
I certainly can't disagree with your overall opinion. Just calling out your statement that he was garbage as a passer in his Pats appearances (more specifically the last one). He was 3/4 and 0/2 and that was with 2 very bad drops on excellent passes.I base my opinion on his entire body of work going back to college. He’s not a pure passer, he’s not the athlete Lamar Jackson is. Potential backup is his ceiling if he pursues a QB job.

Should have never wasted a 4th rounder on a guy like that.Neither. I just don’t care. He’s not an NFL QB.
He attempted 6 passes and completed half… volume also matters. Preventing a QB from passing to protect him from himself is an indication he’s not good at it.I certainly can't disagree with your overall opinion. It was preseason. They’re not protecting him from anything. He attempted 6 passes and completed half… volume also matters. Preventing a QB from passing to protect him from himself is an indication he’s not good at it.
Exactly. This is pretty much try outs. The win/loss is no longer a factor. Cunningham in my opinion isn't a WR.. he's an athlete at the QB position. He's more of what the NFL is now. He just needs some more development. With time he could end up being a Russell Wilson type to me. He's got a rocket arm. He’s a project. I expect the team to abandon trying to make him a WR he has shown no sign to date that he has any potential of being one.
With that said the season is over this is basically preseason now. Put him in and let’s see what he’s got.
Not promising news for the Zappe fanboys. Pats will just have to play the string out with no QB and flush these turds away after the season ends.
Should have never wasted a 4th rounder on a guy like that.
Easley projected as a unique weapon as an interior pass rusher, and the team was in a place where it could afford the risk. During the 5 years that pick would have been under contract they went to the AFCCG all 5 years, went to 4 SBs and won 3. Possibly the greatest 5 year team in nfl history. Yet people complain about this pick.I’m fine with them taking shots on players, They end up taking a lot of **** when they miss, but you get some home runs in there as well. Belichick took huge **** for drafting Dominique Easley with a late first, but the year before he was projected as a top 10 1st, but dropped because of injury concerns. However he basically made the same bet when he drafted Gronk midway through the 2nd round, but who was also off many boards because of back injuries. So I’m fine with taking chances, it’s just part of the deal.
