According to Pro Football Weekly, a boycott of the Combine and the draft is being considered.

I think the teams can draft players without them being present. But the Combine is important to prospect.

Personally I don't think they will do this. It hurts the players more than the NFL.

Players at the combine and draft are not members of their so called union that is really an association of millionaires. No wonder though Rosenhaus is going off on twitter about the need to get a deal done ASAP... Any agent that talks his client into skipping either event has an idiot for a client... One of the key elements of any new deal that this union has voiced no opposition to is a rookie contract cap...LOL

not gonna happen, players want money. Pea****ing themselves in the combine increases their chances of more monies.

It appears the union is scapeing for any form of leverage it can get. Not a good sign for them. I don't believe that the union and agents will act in colusion for there own benifit putting the only risk on the draft prospects who are not yet members of the NFLPA. Also I wonder what type of influence they may be using to push the drafties into risking their draft possition status to comply with the unions wishes.

I don't think that they won't do anything before the end of this season. In any case, the combine is of great value to players.

After the end of season, there may or may not even be a union. Won't it de-certify? In any case, players may or may not boycott the draft. It's up to them. If they don't want to be part of the TV show, they can always choose not to be.

Some really outstanding posts!
So let me get this straight. The players union, to show a sign of strength, have threatened to exclude unemployed/non-union young men from showing up at a combine to showcase their talent? Then, to further their cause, threatened to have these non-union young men not answer their phones from multi-millionaires on the day of the draft who are offering them $$$$$$$$. I think the concussion thing is worse then we originally thought.

A combine boycott would help the teams with strong college scouting systems, and would hurt teams like the Bengals.
